A man in Greater Manchester has sadly died after being electrocuted by a pylon last night.
A large emergency service response was scrambled to an area just off the M60 on Wednesday 16 March at around 5.30pm.
Road closures were in place in Wythenshawe last night and Greater Manchester Police urged people to avoid the area.
Onlookers reported seeing a ‘huge explosion’ near the top of the pylon, the Manchester Evening News reported.
One witness said they saw the man fall into the woods below.
The man was found dead at the scene near Princess Parkway.
GMP has said there are believed to be no suspicious circumstances, and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

The eyewitness told the M.E.N.: “I was driving along the slip road and all of a sudden in front of me, I saw this huge explosion and heard this incredibly loud bang. It was so loud and you could almost feel it.
“I immediately pulled over along with some other cars in front and called the police. I was erratic and trying to explain where we were.
“I just needed to go and check if he was okay, so I jumped over the barrier and ran down the slope into the woods and told the other people who had stopped to keep calling the emergency services.”
Last night, GMP said the southbound road closure had come into effect ‘in relation to a report of a man having been electrocuted by a pylon close to the M60′.
