One taxi firm is going the extra mile "in order to help the people of Middleton during these testing times".
Diamond 1 Taxis is going above and beyond to help the elderly and self-isolating members of the community.
In a post on their Facebook page yesterday evening, which has amassed hundreds of likes and interactions, the Middleton taxi firm listed the measures they would be putting in place and the services they would now be offering amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Following a meeting with its management team, the taxi firm will now offer a range of services to the elderly, most vulnerable and self-isolating residents of Middleton. This includes a prescription collect and delivery service and a shopping collect and delivery service for free of charge, with the only costs incurred being for the shopping itself.
It is are also looking to sell essential items, such as toilet paper sourced from a wholesaler, for a discounted price to those who need it most.
How brilliant is this?
In the statement, the taxi firm said that it is "currently in the process of setting up a dedicated number for these services in the office", but informed that this is "taking longer than usual" primarily as "all businesses are suffering at the moment".
Diamond 1 Taxis vowed to keep all customers updated via their Facebook and Snapchat and will be constantly reviewing measures.
