Piers Morgan has said there could be ‘a lot of rich, powerful and famous people sweating’ after Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty of recruiting underage girls to be sexually abused by Jeffrey Epstein.
The television personality also took a veiled swipe at Prince Andrew, who had ties to Epstein, adding ‘… and not sweating’.
Maxwell was found guilty of five of the six counts she faced, including sex trafficking of a minor.
The 60-year-old British socialite could now spend the rest of her life behind bars.
Although a date for her sentencing has not yet been reached, Morgan says she may now ‘sing like a canary’ to negotiate a reduced sentence.
He said: “Will vile sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell now sing like a canary to avoid spending the rest of her life in prison?
“If she does, there could be a lot of rich, powerful & famous people sweating tonight… and not sweating.”
The verdict in the Maxwell trial was reached after five full days of deliberation in New York, following a month-long trial.
Four women testified to being abused by late American financier Epstein in the trial.
Maxwell was also found guilty of transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.

Annie Farmer, one of the women who testified, said: “I am so relieved and grateful that the jury recognised [her] pattern of predatory behaviour.
“I hope that this verdict brings solace to all who need it and demonstrates that no one is above the law.”
