Police appeal launched after man, 81, hit by vehicle in Tesco car park

A man has been left fighting for his life in hospital after a collision in a Tesco car park.

Police are appealing for any eye witnesses to the collision between a vehicle and the pedestrian to come forward.

The incident occurred at around 2.30pm on Tuesday 14 November 2023, in the car park of Tesco Extra in Pendleton in Salford.

Emergency services were scrambled to the scene and the pedestrian involved, an 81-year-old man, taken to hospital.

He remains in hospital in critical condition.

No arrests have been made and the driver of the vehicle involved is assisting police with their enquiries.

GMP is now appealing for anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed the collision to come forward.

A statement from GMP said: “At around 2.30pm on Tuesday 14 November 2023, emergency services were called to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the car park of Tesco Extra, Pendleton.

“The pedestrian, an 81-year-old man, is in a critical condition in hospital.

“No arrests have been made and the driver of the vehicle is assisting the police with their enquiries.
