Two of Canal Street's most popular venues have announced they will close forever.
KIKI - the home of cheap drinks, cheesy pop, DJs and drag for half a dozen years - and VOID - an after hours club that rumbles on until 10am - are throwing their final parties this weekend.
Owners made the abrupt announcement on their social media channels on Friday afternoon, stating:
"This post is not an easy one to write, however it is with a heavy heart that KIKI & VOID will be closing its doors for the last time at the end of trade this Sunday. We have sold to Stonegate and wish them the best with the venue."
This will prove to be some particularly painful news for those who love the village, with the pair of clubs considered an intrinsic part of the fabric of Canal Street.
KIKI's owners sign off their statement with a heartfelt thank you to customers, asking everyone to pack out the venues for the closing parties.
"For the last time this weekend come and have a KIKI with us. Lock the doors, tight", the post reads.
So, if you want to have one of those classic nights throwing shapes to The Spice Girls in KIKI before wobbling around in VOID and staggering back out into the Village in sunlight - this is your final chance to do so.
Goodbye, KIKI and VOID!
