The Warehouse Project has announced a special one-off opening concert with Bonobo and Caribou to mark the start of its 2022 season.

Kicking things off earlier than usual, this year the start of the new season will begin on the August Bank Holiday weekend as the team brings trip-hop DJ Bonobo back to the party’s cavernous headquarters, Depot Mayfield.

The night will see critically acclaimed artist Bonobo perform a special full live show, alongside Dan Snaith’s Caribou, who returns to Manchester for this huge bank holiday doubleheader.

It will be the first time the British trip-hop DJ and producer has played a set for the iconic Manchester party series since he opened The Warehouse Project’s first-ever season at Depot back in 2018.

The 2022 show will take place on Friday 26 August, running as a gig from 7pm to 11pm.

Tickets for the gig will go on sale from Wednesday 27 April at 10am for previous fans, followed by a general sale on Thursday 28 April at 10am.

This is the second show to be announced as part of the Warehouse Project 2022 season so far, following news that American rock band The National will also play a set to open the season that weekend on Saturday 27 August.

The appearance will be The National’s biggest show in Manchester to date, following on from the band’s Castlefield Bowl Sounds of The City concerts in 2019, which packed the waterside amphitheatre to the rafters with adoring fans for a sell-out show.
