Spike Island has gone down in history as one of the greatest gigs the UK has ever seen.
On Saturday, United We Stream is hosting a show inspired by Spike Island, to recreate the atmosphere of that legendary music event - even recruiting one of the original lineup members in the process.
DJ Paul Oakenfold was there at Spike Island three decades ago, and he'll be spinning records as part of an exclusive Spike Island tribute via the United We Stream platform.
Oakenfold starred alongside Dave Haslam, Frankie Bones and The Stone Roses themselves on that momentous day in Widnes in May 1990, with the Spike Island show earning seminal status over time and even inspiring a movie of the same name.
Oakenfold would continue to be a key player in the Madchester scene and started working closely with the Happy Mondays at the turn of the nineties - producing their third album 'Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches'.
Since those heady days, Oakenfold has been named No.1 DJ in the world on two separate occasions in a career spanning forty years.
He has performed a number of special gigs over the years, but this one will be right up there among the most memorable of all.
On April 18, Oakenfold will take to the decks to recreate his set from Spike Island - and it's entirely free to watch.
