These are eye-opening times. Across Manchester, and indeed the world, everyone seems to be going through a bit of a spiritual awakening.
We're starting to realise what's most important. We're beginning to understand priorities a little better. And we're also developing a newfound appreciation for the people keeping us all afloat.
Some beautiful stories have risen through the thick tar of sad social media news in recent days, but one woman's post in particular has struck a chord.
This week, Rachel Clarke shared some sentiments with the Mint Manchester group that turned the spotlight onto the real heroes of modern times - and it's one of the truest, most profound statements posted on the platform to date.
Rachel's post reads:
"So society's *real* key workers have just been revealed.
"Not the bankers. Not the traders. Not the elite hedge fund managers.
"It's the nurses. The doctors. The delivery drivers. The carers. The porters. The teachers. The shelf stackers. The checkout staff.
Group members have also chimed in with a few other unsung heroes deserving of praise - from the contract cleaning staff right through to volunteers helping others.
These are dark times, no doubt. But at least we can take some solace in the fact that people are coming together and developing fresh respect for the types of human beings that make the world's wheels go round.
Stay strong, all.
