A house in Greater Manchester has gone up for sale for £1 – but it needs some work

A three-bedroom house in Greater Manchester has gone on the market for just £1.

The property in east Manchester has been listed on Rightmove in the last week and will be sold at auction next month.

The listing states that the Openshaw home is in need of refurbishment – and photos show walls that need plastering and painting, bare floorboards and broken tiles.

There’s also, interestingly, a skull clown toilet seat in the bathroom.

But it looks to us like there’s loads of potential here, with an open-plan ground floor and three bedrooms upstairs.

The ground floor is made up of that open living room/dining room space, with a kitchen and shower room at the rear.

Then the upstairs landing of the £1 house leads to three bedrooms.

There’s also a small yard out the back of the property.

The ‘traditionally constructed’ end-of-terrace house is currently vacant.

One thing that has been updated in the property is new gas central heating.

The house is located just off Ashton Old Road, near bus routes into the city centre as well as Gorton train station.

It will be sold at online auction between 23 and 24th February, through Auction House North West.
