It’s hard to remember a time where a search through Rightmove didn’t include a listing for the Beetham Tower penthouse – the luxury flat that was once Phil Neville’s home has been on and off the market for some 13 years.
Manchester pads don’t get much fancier or more prestigious than this, positioned as it is right near the top of the city’s most iconic skyscraper.
When the four-bedroom apartment was first listed several years ago, it had an asking price of £4m.
Now, several attempts to find a buyer later, it’s being marketed at £2m – about half its original price.
Over the years, the Orchid Suite has been renovated and rented out (for a casual £22k a month…) and popped back up for sale, even though The Sun reported it had finally sold back in January.
So what exactly makes this flat in Beetham Tower so special, despite the obvious perk of incredible views across Manchester and way beyond?
Well it spans three floors of the tower, for one – the only flat higher and fancier in the building is the penthouse belonging to Ian Simpson, the architect who designed the building.
Inside, you’ll find four double bedrooms and five secure parking spaces, with a private terrace on each floor of the flat.
An entrance reception area leads through to an open-plan reception and kitchen/dining room, as well as as utility room and loo.
Downstairs on the 44th floor is a second reception room, as well as a double bedroom with floor-to-ceiling windows, an office space, and a large walk-in wardrobe.
Then back up on the 46th floor are three more double bedrooms (the master has another walk-in wardrobe and a luxury en suite bathroom).
Whoever takes on the property will be sharing the building with The Hilton Manchester Deansgate hotel and the Cloud 23 cocktail bar, as well as being able to use the hotel facilities at an extra cost.
The full listing for the Beetham Tower flat is live now through Savills and Rightmove.
