Killing Eve season three has come to an end, and we can all agree if one character managed to catch the eye from beginning to end – it was Villanelle.
Since the start of the series’ run, Northerner Jodie Comer has wowed audience for her outstanding performance as the assassin, but also due to her elegant, sleek style.
Villanelle’s fashion choices develop her character far beyond just being an outfit. It’s clear she wants to own that part of herself as so many other aspects are out of her own control.
But what can we do to emulate just a hint of Villanelle in our day to day lives? And could we pull it off on the Manchester catwalk?
The first thing to admit is that, during lockdown, so many of us have looked like Eve – cramped in her small flat, dressed in day old sweats with a never-ending mug of red wine. We are gazing through the open window of social media at those who have the means and the motivation to get dressed in a morning.
But Villanelle, on the other hand, exudes a sense of power and confidence. She struts through city after city in bold, clashing colours.
Her wardrobe offers plenty of inspiration for the summer weather – offering some great ideas on how dress up for that glass of wine in the garden – from electric blue florals to retro seventies designs.
For the ultimate Villanelle look, you could even consider adding a bold shade of lipstick, hair pieces or even cowboy boots!
Many aspects of Villanelle’s character revert back to the theme of beauty. In season two, we even saw Villanelle sneak Eve a lipstick concealing a blade. You can’t get more serious about finding the perfect shade of red than that.
On the other hand, it’s important to remember that Villanelle still went casual from time to time – even rocking the old t-shirt and dungarees.
If you wanted to give your lockdown look a bit of extra edge, this is the way to do it.
