Aldi launches new Specialbuy garden furniture just in time for summer

The budget retailer has unveiled a rope-effect rocking chair and a matching table and chairs set that's perfect for all the family.

Aldi has introduced some new garden furniture to its ever-growing Specialbuys section, and they’re expected to be snapped up quick.

We’ve been enjoying a spell of dry weather, warm temperatures and sporadic sunshine here in Greater Manchester for the past couple of weeks now, but now that summer is officially here, the budget supermarket chain’s latest garden furniture additions have come just in time.

Aldi’s popular Specialbuys section boasts endless deals on everything from fan-favourite BBQ firepits, to sell-out hanging egg chairs and more, so these new bargains fit right in.

This time, the retailer has unveiled a rope-effect rocking chair and a matching table and chairs set for all the family can make use of it at barbecues and garden parties during the summer season.

The Gardeline Rope Effect Rocking Chair is a Scandi-inspired rocking chair that comes with seat and waist cushions, so you’ll be able to stay comfortable no matter how long you spend in it.

If you’re after something a little extra, then the Gardeline Rope Effect Coffee Set is a matching sofa and dining set that comes in the same Scandi-inspired design as the rocking chair, but with enough seats to suit a bigger household or for those who love entertaining guests.

Although it’s designed for outside use, you can make use of these furniture items all year round if you have a conservatory or similar indoor area.

In true Aldi style, they’re both affordable with the rocking chair priced at £99.99 and available to pre-order for dispatch on 27 June, and the coffee set ready to get your hands on via the Aldi website now, priced at £299.99.

Aldi’s Specialbuys are known to be very popular with savvy shoppers, so you’ll probably need to act fast if you’re keen to snap up this garden furniture.

Zoe Ball announces death of her ‘dear mama’ just weeks after cancer diagnosis

Zoe Ball has said that she is ‘bereft’ after the death of her mum Julia Peckham, just weeks after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

The BBC Radio 2 breakfast show host shared the sad news this morning, writing ‘sleep tight dear Mama’.

Zoe had shared just a matter of weeks ago that her beloved mother had been diagnosed with cancer, later moving to hospice care.

And now tragically, only six weeks after her diagnosis and an ‘incredibly brave’ battle with the disease’, Julia has passed away.

Zoe has been taking some time off air to spend time with family.

Today, sharing a photo of her mum in her younger years, Zoe Ball wrote: “Sleep tight dear Mama.

“Thank you for teaching us how to love unconditionally, to always show courage and empathy, and how, even in the darkest of days, laughter is the greatest of gifts.

“We are bereft without you but will hold so tight to each other. your grace & your smile that lit up every room you were in, will light the stars to guide us.”

She had previously written upon her mum’s diagnosis: “Heartbreakingly our beautiful Mama Julia has been diagnosed with Cancer. As many of you know from experience, these are extremely tough times. Mum is being incredibly brave.

“My brother Jamie & I are completely in awe of the brilliant Doctors, Nurses & support teams looking after Mum. Thank you. Gratitude to our families & our extended family & friends at home & at work for their support at this time.

“Sending out love to people reading this who are battling cancer, or awaiting diagnosis & also to the folk looking after their dear ones who are poorly.”
