Masses of ITV viewers are making the same observation about this series of Love Island as the show is dominated by just one islander.

People have said that the hit dating show is becoming ‘Gemma Island’, due to the amount of screen time Gemma Owen is receiving.

The 19-year-old beauty, who is the daughter of football legend Michael Owen, has been at the centre of the action since the series launched last week.

Most recently, her ex-boyfriend Jacques O’Neill entered the villa to stir the pot further.

Rumours are now swirling that a second one of her exes will join the Love Island contestants.

Wrexham footballer Cameron Green is said to be ‘waiting on the sidelines’ to appear, according to The Sun on Sunday.

One person joked on Twitter: “At this rate one of Gemma’s horses is gonna rock up.”

Another said: “Another one of Gemma’s ex’s is coming onto the show? Is this Love Island or Gemma island? #loveisland”

Someone asked: “me wondering how much michael owen paid love island to turn into the gemma show #LoveIsland”

And one person quipped: “Next week her dad will come in as a bombshell at this rate #loveisland”

People are calling for ITV2 to give more airtime to other islanders, including Indiyah, Paige and Ikenna.

One person asked if they need to file a ‘missing person report’ after Indiyah was barely included in recent episodes.

As it stands, Gemma still hasn’t revealed the identity of her famous dad, though Liam Llewellyn – who quit the villa last week – is now officially in the loop.

Love Island will return to ITV2 screens this evening from 9pm this evening with a new episode.
