In case you missed it, the star-studded lineup for Manchester’s biggest annual celebration of music was finally unveiled last night.
Following a year of cancellation due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Parklife is returning to Heaton Park on the slightly later dates of 11th – 12th September, and there’s a jaw-dropping selection of artists set to play across the two days, including some familiar faces back to finish what they started after being booked to play the cancelled 2020 edition last June.
Headlining the bill is multi-award-winning rapper Dave, in an exclusive UK festival appearance for 2021.
Meanwhile, “WAP” star Megan Thee Stallion will make her Parklife debut and will be joined by some of the finest grime, rap and hip-hop artists including Skepta, AJ Tracey, slowthai, Burna Boy, Mist and DaBaby.
There’s also a stellar selection of world-class DJs, drum and bass artists and more.

With all the big-name acts set to provide the soundtrack to this year finally revealed, it’s not hard see why social media went into meltdown last night, especially as Parklife also announced the lineup alongside the launch of an exclusive competition to win x4 weekend VIP tickets.
PARKLIFE 2021 IS HERE 🥳

All the hopeful festival-goers had to do to be in with a chance of bagging the free tickets was retweet the lineup announcement tweet and tag the three friends they want to take with them in the comments thread below.

The winner would then be picked by the festival’s organisers at random.
And after over 8,000 entries came flooding in just a matter of hours, the lucky winner was chosen and informed of his win over DM.
Things then took a bit of a turn though.

After securing the highly-coveted tickets for free, the winner – who we have chosen not to directly name here – was seen trying to re-sell his winnings to other people desperate to get their hands on tickets during this morning’s pre-sale.
If that wasn’t bad enough, he was attempting to sell them at £350 each, which is an extortionate mark-up considering Weekend General Admission tickets are only retailing at £155.
After exchanging back-and-forth tweets with another member of the public who called out his behaviour and staggering re-sale prices, the lad finally revealed that he was the competition winner.
“I won tickets for me and my pals, so why wouldn’t I sell them?” he said.
His gloating didn’t get him very far.

Parklife was alerted to the conversation happening between the two under their recent tweet, and very swiftly confiscated his winning tickets, without even a second thought.
“Lol, your tickets have just been cancelled pal.” Parklife responded.
Unsurprisingly, the hilariously savage response and decision by the festival organisers to confiscate the tickets from the former winner has been highly-praised on Twitter, racking up thousands of retweets and likes.
We love to see it.

Tesco launches 2026 Valentine’s dine-in deals with its ‘most generous’ menu yet
Emily Sergeant
Tesco has unveiled the menu for this year’s edition of its Valentine’s dine in meal deal, and it’s sounding tastier than ever.
Last year, thousands of Brits headed on down to their nearest Tesco to make the most of the retailer‘s always-popular Valentine’s dining deal and celebrate the international day of love in a more low-key way from the comfort of their own home – but this year, Tesco says it wants to top that success, and is hoping its ‘most generous’ menu yet will do the trick.
Launching early next month (9 February), this year, there’ll be two different dine-in deals to choose from based on your budget.
The Tesco Finest Valentine’s Dine In range includes one starter, one main, two sides – for the first time, giving customers more choice when building their meal – one dessert, and one drink, setting you back £20 with a Tesco Clubcard.
Or if you want to keep things a bit more budget-friendly, you can get the simpler Valentine’s Day Dine In option, which includes one main, one side, one dessert, and one drink, for just £15 instead.

50% of the menu on offer is new for 2026 too, offering you some fresh foodie inspiration alongside much-loved favourites.
Some of the starter highlights include the Tesco Finest Camembert with Garlic & Parsley Dough Balls, Tesco Finest Coquilles St Jacques, Tesco FinestMediterranean Style Breaded Prawns with Hot Honey Dip, or if you’re vegan, you can try out Tesco Finest Mushroom Parcels instead.
For mains, on the menu we have Tesco Finest Salmon & Prawn En Croûte, and Tesco Finest Beef Bourguignon Pies served with a red wine jus, or the Tesco Finest Mushroom Stroganoff Pies for vegans.
But it’s the sides that are taking centre stage this year, with the expanded selection including the likes of Tesco Finest Samphire, Petit Pois & Sliced Cabbage with Mint Dressing, Tesco Finest Rosemary & Parmesan Fries, Tesco Finest Baby Potato Traybake with Chantenay Carrots & Tenderstem Broccoli, or Tesco Finest Garlic & Parsley Ciabatta, just to name a few.

Drinks are also included this year too, with the likes of soft drinks, cocktails, beers, and award-winning wines to choose.
As mentioned, both Valentine’s Dine In deals launch in Tesco stores across the UK from 9 February, so you’re covered no matter whether you’re sharing a romantic moment, creating a spread for loved ones, or simply treating yourself at home.

A Heated Rivalry club night is coming to Manchester next month
Emily Sergeant
Who’s ready for a night at the cottage?
We honestly can’t believe we finally get to say this, but a Heated Rivalry-themed club night – as in the ones we’ve seen going viral all over our TikTok FYPs – is finally coming to Manchester next month, as one popular local venue has decided to jump on the bandwagon and give us all what we deserve… a night at the cottage.
If you’ve been living under a rock and somehow haven’t heard about Heated Rivalry (you don’t have to have watched it, but we’d be shocked if you haven’t at least heard of it), it’s also affectionately nicknamed and known on the internet as ‘the gay hockey show’, which kind of does some it up really.
It’s a story of two elite ice hockey players, Canada’s Shane Hollander (played by Hudson Williams) and Russia’s Ilya Rozanov (played by Connor Storrie).
The two play for rival teams and countries in the MHL and begin a ‘relationship’ over a 10-year period, which they choose to keep a secret due to homophobia in the world of hockey, and also just not fully understanding their connection themselves.
The six-part Canadian series has gone viral since its initial release back in late November last year, and UK release earlier this month… in fact ‘viral’ is an understatement, it’s been critically and commercially acclaimed like nothing else has in the television space for a while.
Its undeniable success has also spawned club nights across the world, with the soundtrack blasting out of speakers at full volume and fan edits of the show playing on big screens behind the DJ.

And now, Manchester’s finally getting a taste of the action.
Popular live music and club venue Gorilla has teamed up with Throwback Events to announced that it’ll be hosting its own Heated Rivalry club night next month, and fans can expect DJs to play music from the show’s soundtrack, before it’s woven into a late-night mix of the greatest 00s and 10s pop/queer club anthems.
Plus, you’ll also see edits on the big screen too, making it like a proper night at The Cottage.
“Join us for a night inspired by the viral hit TV show and book, built around tension, proximity, and the kind of chemistry you can’t ignore,” the event’s description reads.
The Heated Rivalry Club Night is coming to Gorilla in Manchester on Friday 20 February from 11pm, right through to 3am, and tickets are on sale now – with early bird options also available.
And as an extra perk, NHS staff or anyone with a birthday between 13-27 February go free.
