The ‘fish and a rice cake’ guy is an absolute unit nowadays

He was the Baby Faced Bodybuilder whose diet we've been ridiculing for over a decade. Now, he's an absolute unit running a successful business in Preston.

Yes, 17-year-old Danny Andrews became an instant legend back in 2007 when he appeared on a BBC3 documentary about young bodybuilders – and gave fish and a rice cake their 15 minutes (or 12 years) of fame.

In the documentary, Danny is preparing and dieting down for a bodybuilding competition that is a fortnight away, and explains his complex daily diet of eight portions of fish and/or a rice cake.

He says: "Eight o'clock in the morning I'll have fish and a rice cake. At 10 o'clock, I'll have fish. At 12 o'clock, I'll have fish and a rice cake. At two o'clock, I'll have fish."

"At four o'clock – just before I train – I'll have fish and a rice cake. “I’ll train, I'll have me fish. I’ll come home, have some more fish, with a rice cake, and then have some more fish before I go to bed."

At the time of filming, it was unbeknown to Danny that he was establishing his decade-long-nickname of 'fish and rice cake guy'.

But over a decade on, Danny looks like he'd make you eat fish and a rice cake through a straw if you even thought about calling him the fish and a rice cake guy.

The fitness fanatic and Manchester United fan grew up in Cumbria but now runs his own successful barber shop in Preston where he lives quite a successful life.

And even though the show aired more than a decade ago, the gym king still gets comments about his TV appearance.

Word on the grapevine is that he's soon returning to the bodybuilding circuit, and if he does, we wish him all the best. What a legend.

Now, sit back and watch 10 whole hours of fish and a rice cake.
