Brand new Slush Puppie ice cream has been spotted at frozen food retailer Iceland this week – and people seem pretty keen to try it out.
Slush Puppies are the taste of childhood for many and bring a great sense of nostalgia, with the colourful frozen treat having been launched in 1970 and since enjoyed by millions of people worldwide.
This is probably why news of the introduction of Slush Puppie ice cream has gone viral on social media this week.
The new ice cream has been shared online by popular food-spotting Instagram pages @NewFoodsUK and @newestproductuk, as well as budget shopping communities Money Saver Online and Snack Reviews over Facebook, with each post racking up thousands of interactions and comments from eager ice cream lovers.
Although there isn’t a great deal of information online about the new release – with the product not yet being listed on either of Iceland or Slush Puppie’s websites – the Slush Puppie Original Ice Cream comes in the brand’s two most-popular and best-loved retro flavours of Blue Raspberry and Strawberry.
Tubs cost £3 – and are expected to arrive in Iceland stores “early next week”.
Keep your fingers crossed they appear in Manchester.
If you are planning on heading to your nearest Iceland branch to see if you can get your hands on this sweet treat, then you can check the opening times via the Store Finder here.
Slush Puppie ice cream not really your thing, but still keen to replicate your childhood? You can buy your own Slush Puppie machine from Amazon to make those retro frozen drinks from the comfort of your own home instead.
