Coronation Street star Julia Goulding has announced the birth of a baby girl, and revealed the beautiful name she’s given her new arrival.
The actress, who plays Shona Platt (and the on-screen wife of long-time cast member Jack P. Shepherd), revealed the happy news on Instagram this afternoon.
The 37-year-old said that she and her husband Ben Silver are ‘absolutely elated’ to welcome baby number two to the world.
She also revealed that the couple have chosen a beautiful Manc name for their daughter – Emmeline Beanie Silver.
Julia first revealed her pregnancy on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards back in June.
She and Ben welcomed Emmeline to the world on Saturday, she wrote.
Julia said in her post: “On Saturday our little girl arrived. We’re absolutely elated and Franklin is besotted with his little sister, Emmeline Beanie Silver. She’s perfect.”
Well-wishes from fellow Corrie stars as well as other celebrities have been flooding in.
Peaky Blinders actress Sophie Rundle wrote: “Oh my god GORGEOUS!! Congratulations beautiful lady.”
Fellow Corrie star Sally Dynevor posted: “Oooh congratulations.”

Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria on the soap, commented: “Yay!! Soo happy for you guys.. huge congrats on the birth of little Emmeline.”
Brooke Vincent added: “DARLING! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! Look at you both!!!! Well done.”
And Kym Marsh commented: “Huge congrats baby xxx.”
