Bar Hütte takes over Great Northern square with music, mince pies and private alpine cabins

Festive music, mince pies, twinkling lights and wooden cabins will still come to Manchester this Christmas – despite the cancellation of the annual markets.

Popup mini festival Bar Hütte is bringing ski-village vibes to Great Northern for 2020 – setting up ‘safe, sanitised, pre-bookable private huts’ for families, friends and dates during winter.

Opening on 12 November, Bar Hütte will see a mixture of indoor and outdoor chalets dotted across the square near Deansgate – with mugs of mulled wine and plates of oven-baked pizzas available to order at the touch of a button.

Cocktails and soft drinks will also be available – with everything delivered directly to your table.

Karaoke booths are being set up exclusively for the occasion – so you can try your hand at belting out your favourite Christmas ditty on the microphone if the mood strikes.

Kids are also welcome at Bar Hütte this year – with a giant Christmas tree in the square and a ‘Special Santa’ ticket package offering little ones the chance to tuck into a free hot chocolate before meeting Santa Claus himself.

The Bar Hütte team say they have integrated a variety of new safety measures for 2020 to ensure social distancing, as well as making sure every hütte is clean and COVID-secure.

Hüttes can be reserved with a non-refundable booking fee of £50 – which guarantees a 1 hour and 45 minute slot.

Each guest will enjoy a complimentary Bombardino, pizza to share, and the opportunity to have a go on karaoke.
