Steve Backshall to stop off in Manchester as he takes iconic kids’ show Deadly 60 on first UK live tour

One of the most iconic children’s TV shows of the 2010s is becoming a new stage show set to tour the UK.

Deadly 60 is a BBC and CBBC factual entertainment programme that first began back in 2009, where presenter and British naturalist and explorer, Steve Backshall, travels to different parts of the world in order to find the 60 most deadly animals living on the planet.

The show has run for five series now, with the most recent airing in 2024, and has got young people in their thousands invested in wildlife.

And now, a thrilling new live entertainment adventure inspired by the show is coming to UK arenas this October – including an all-important stop off here in Manchester.

Deadly Live! is gearing up to be an ‘action-packed, edge of your seat experience’ based on the hugely-popular franchise Deadly, with BAFTA award-winning Backshall at the helm, and will be visiting 10 major UK arenas during the October half term.

Audiences are being invited to join Steve Backshall on an unforgettable journey as he tracks some of the world’s most formidable predators – from big cats and birds of prey, to Dinomania dinosaurs, snakes, and many more.

With daring stunts, mind-blowing experiments, and cutting-edge science, this thrilling live show takes fans across land, sky, and sea in a truly-unique wildlife spectacle.

The Deadly Live! tour is kicking off in Newcastle on Friday 24 October, and will be arriving in Manchester and taking to the legendary AO Arena stage on Wednesday 29 October.

“I’m thrilled to be bringing Deadly Live! to arenas across the UK later this year for the very first time,” commented Steve Backshall as the UK tour was announced. “We’ve got some amazing stunts and incredible experiments planned for this new supersized show for all the family, as we explore animals from 600 million years ago right through to modern day.”

Alex Warren at Co-op Live, Manchester – tickets, times, setlist and more for UK tour

Singer-songwriter and social media star Alex Warren is visiting Co-op Live, Manchester, for two nights of out of the ‘Ordinary’ live music.

One of the founding members of the TikTok group, the ‘Hype House’, which also included fellow pop performer Addison Rae, Warren has gone on to receive global recognition for his contributions to music.

Born in California, it’s no surprise his music has managed to catapult into the mainstream as he’s been mastering content creation since he was 10 on YouTube.

His music journey began back in 2021, when he released music as an independent artist in 2021 before signing a record deal one year later, dropping the chart-topping ‘Ordinary’ in 2025.

Now, Alex Warren prepares for his biggest UK tour to date, and he’s playing two shows right here in Manchester at the 23,500 seater Co-op Live in April and May.

Co-op Live has a strict curfew of 11pm, meaning you can still get home without ‘Chasing Shadows’.

Supporting Alex Warren on the night will be Claire Rosinkranz, a singer-songwriter from California with tracks like ‘Frankenstein’ and ‘Backyard Boy’.

How to get to Co-op Live

Tram

For those of you heading to Co-op Live, you’ll be glad to know it’s right next door to a rather famous big blue stadium and its integrated Metrolink stop.

Head along the light blue or orange lines directly to the Etihad Campus or Ashton-under-Lyne, and you can get off the tram literally spitting distance from the arena. You can find the full map HERE.

Trams run frequently on the Ashton-Eccles line to the Etihad stop, with services leaving every six minutes from the city centre and until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Bus

You can find the full list of bus routes HERE, with the one in closest proximity to the venue being the 53 bus, which runs from Cheetham Hill through to Higher Crumpsall, Old Trafford and Pendleton, leaving just a two-minute walk to Co-op Live.

Getting there by car and parking

If you’re driving, there is limited parking available at the venue, but this must be pre-booked ahead of time, and there are designated drop-off areas.

The postcode is M11 3DU, and you can follow the signs towards the wider Etihad Campus as you get closer; directions to the adjacent drop-off points will also be signposted.

Keep in mind that congestion on the roads close to the stadium is expected to gather around two hours prior to any event, so if you are travelling on the road, these are the suggested times they provide on event day, though estimates will obviously vary:

  • Alan Turing Way (both directions): plan an additional 20 minutes into any journey by road.
  • Hyde Road (eastbound): expect an additional 15 minutes to be added to your journey.
  • Mancunian Way (westbound): plan for an extra 10 minutes of travel time.

There are also three park-and-ride facilities near Co-op Live, but be advised that the Velopark and Holt Town stops will be closed post-event to help safely manage crowds:

  • Ashton Moss (Ashton line) – 183 spaces and 12 disabled spaces
  • Ashton West (Ashton line) – 184 spaces and 11 disabled spaces
  • Ladywell (Ashton-Eccles line) – 332 spaces and 22 disabled spaces

Walk/cycle

Lastly, Co-op Live is only a half-hour stroll from Manchester Piccadilly, and you could even walk along the canal all the way to the front door if you fancy taking the scenic route.

Greater Manchester now also offers the option to hire bikes on the Beryl app, with riders able to locate, unlock, get to their destination and then safely lock up the bike all through an easy-to-use app. There are hire points just near the south-west corner of the Etihad Stadium on Ashton New Road.

Comedy legend Peter Kay is set to return home to the Bolton Albert Halls for four very special hometown shows in this summer, marking his first performances at the venue more than two decades.

Taking to the very stage where he recorded the UK’s biggest-selling stand-up DVD, it’s set to be a proper nostalgic homecoming for one of Britain’s most beloved comedians.

The summer shows – which are taking place from 9 – 11 July 2026, even including a matinee performance – this is a rare chance for local fans to be part of something incredibly special, with all funds raised going to Bolton Hospice.

But, there’s a bit of a catch… you’ll only be able to get tickets if you live in Bolton (and some parts of Bury), as it’s strictly limited to BL postcodes.
