Movie scores and soundtracks – when a film has a good one, you know it.

Like the soundtrack from Pulp Fiction, Guardians of the Galaxy and Trainspotting, and scores like Interstellar’s, Star Wars’ and of course, the 1982 sci-fi classic, Blade Runner.

Composed by Vangelis, one of the leading godfathers of synth back in the 70s and 80s, this cult classic film’s score is known and loved by many for its jazzy, electronic sound creating its intensely moody sci-fi atmosphere, perfect for this neo-noir tale.

Watching the film on your telly and hearing the music is one thing, but imagine watching the classic on a massive HD screen, while Vangelis’ synthesiser-led score is played out by a live orchestra.

Arriving at the O2 Apollo Manchester on 19 September 2024, ‘Blade Runner Live’ is a brand new way to experience this iconic film like never before.

Of course, played on the big screen will be the 2007 Final Cut version of the classic film. If you don’t know why we don’t watch the original theatrical release anymore and are confused about the different versions of Blade Runner, here’s a quick explanation.

From the twinkly jazz of the Love Theme, to the atmospherical synth of Tears In Rain, you’ll be able to hear it all live by The Avex Ensemble in sync with the 1982 motion picture.

On Blade Runner Live touring the UK for the first time, Lucy Noble, Artistic Director at AEG Presents said: “AEG Artistic is thrilled to be presenting Blade Runner Live across the UK next September.

“It’s amazing after 42 years the film and soundtrack still stand the test of time. This will be a truly amazing and unique way for audiences to revisit this iconic piece of cinema with Vangelis’ iconic score as they’ve never experienced it before.”

Whether you’re a lover of film score, the classic 1982 film or just a general cinephile, this is an event not to be missed.

General tickets go on sale today, 22 March, at 10am.
