A new series of Top Gear launches this weekend with an episode entirely based in Greater Manchester town Bolton.
A new series of Top Gear launches on Sunday with an episode based in Bolton – and the BBC has treated fans to a sneak-peek of the crew’s visit.
Presenters Freddie Flintoff, Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris shot the ep over the space of 24 hours – exploring a wide variety of locations in the Greater Manchester town without ever leaving their cars.
Bolton native McGuinness unsurprisingly embraces the role of tour guide during the trip t’north – taking the gang to some of the town’s most popular places, as well as the street on which he grew up.
Ahead of the screening on Sunday, the BBC have released some of the stills captured on set – holding the images aloft against the real backdrop of Bolton.
Some of the landmarks the Top Gear crew visit in the upcoming episode include Bolton Interchange, Bolton Markets, Three Sisters Race Track, Le Mans Crescent and The University of Bolton Stadium.
They also head down to Auburn Street – where McGuinness lived as a youngster.
Top Gear’s presence is the second piece of good news in what is turning out to be much a better week for Bolton residents – with the government allowing pubs and restaurants to reopen in the region yesterday.
The new series of the car show will air for the first time on BBC One on Sunday at 8pm.
You can watch the trailer for the 29th edition of Top Gear on the BBC website.
