One of Manchester’s most popular restaurant spaces, in the heart of the city’s shopping district, is staying open right the way through the festive season.
The Brasserie at Harvey Nichols has one of the best views in the city centre, perched above the Christmas Markets.
People will be able to tuck in to three-course party menus throughout December, sipping on champagne or sipping coffees with a view across the historic Corn Exchange building.
The restaurant is tucked up on the second floor of the luxury department store and is always popular with shoppers.

One of the city’s best, visitors are treated to a tower of miniature sandwiches and cakes, with unlimited tea and coffee for £25 per person, or upgrade to champagne for £35 per person.
The rest of the food offering ranges from brunch classics like scrambled eggs on sourdough, eggs Benedict, and full English breakfasts, to hearty toasties stuffed with fillings like nduja and pesto, or mature cheddar and caramelised onion chutney.

There are Sunday roasts, where a choice of chicken supreme or Josper-grilled striploin from Cheshire is served with roasted chunky root vegetables, cauliflower cheese, tenderstem broccoli, carrot and swede, duck fat and rosemary roasties, Yorkshire pudding and bottomless gravy.
Vegans can still get in on the roast action at the Brasserie with a vegan Wellington served with plant-based trimmings.
It’s open for lunches and dinners too – expect modern fare from across the globe like rack of lamb with a pistachio herb crust, beef fillet carpaccio, and pan-fried chicken breast with creamy pesto gnocchi and rocket.

Viral internet sensation SpudBros are returning to the Trafford Centre following their hugely successful debut.
Following the ‘overwhelming’ success of their first Trafford Centre residency earlier this summer, the UK’s most-followed jacket potato creators SpudBros are returning to the iconic retail destination for a second pop-up later this month.
Shoppers will once again be able to tuck into freshly prepared, fully loaded jacket potatoes served up in minutes, all without compromising on quality, flavour, or portion size.
The SpudBros – also known as Jacob and Harley Nelson – will, once again, be returning as part of Trafford Centre‘s annual summer fair.
At the pop-up, you’ll be able to pick from fan favourites like the Tram Classic, which is loaded with garlic butter, the signature three-cheese mix, beans, crispy onions, and world-famous ‘tram’ sauce, to the Spudfather topped with chilli con carne, tuna, and coleslaw.
There’s also a range of other flavour-packed options to tuck into, alongside the option to build your own potato, allowing every customer to create their perfect lunch.
“The response to our first week at Trafford Centre was incredible, so we couldn’t be more excited to return,” commented SpudBros co-founder, Jacob Nelson.

“Manchester has always shown us so much support online and it was amazing to finally bring SpudBros to the city. We’re looking forward to serving even more visitors and welcoming back everyone who came to see us the first time around.”
Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre, added: “SpudBros was a fantastic addition to our summer line-up and proved hugely popular with our visitors, so we’re delighted to welcome the team back for a second pop-up.”
The SpudBros pop-up will be located outside The Great Hall next week from Monday 24 to Saturday 29 August, serving signature loaded potatoes daily from 12-8pm.

Family behind Salvi’s launch new concept, weeks after iconic restaurant closure
Daisy Jackson
Just weeks after the closure of its iconic, 16-year-old Italian restaurant in the Corn Exchange, the family behind Salvi’s have revealed a brand-new concept.
And this time, the reins are being handed over to the next generation.
Salvi’s founder Maurizio Cecco has helped to shape Amò, but it’s all the brainchild of his daughter, Sienna.
Sienna will run the business out of a unit up on Deansgate Mews, serving fresh pasta dishes, pizza sandwiches, tubs of tiramisu, and two-for-£10 spritzes.
The deli aspect of the original Salvi’s has been carried over to Amò too – you’ll find shelves almost to the ceiling filled with Italian pasta, wine, olive oils, pistachio spreads, and more.
Sienna has grown up in restaurants, with her parents launching Salvi’s when she was just two years old.
She said she wants the space to be a livelier, fresher version of the Italian restaurant that has been so loved by Mancs for so many years.

Amò, which is Neapolitan slang for ‘my love’, will have loads of fresh Italian dishes, including arancini, gnocchi, and hearty pasta plates.
At lunchtimes, guests can order from a £10 lunch menu, with dishes changing daily depending on the best produce the kitchen can get – it could be a pizza sandwich with proscuitto and tomato, a spicy pasta, or a gnocchi bake, always served with your choice of soft drink.
With its position on Deansgate Mews, Amò basks in the sunshine at lunchtimes.
And while it’s definitely a different concept to the original Salvi’s, Amò looks set to carry the family’s Italian food legacy into its next generation.
