The Manchester craft beer festival will return to Mayfield Depot this summer, bringing with it hundreds of different brews from across the globe.
Following a successful debut last summer, the festival will take residence in the former warehouse this summer – taking place across Friday 22 and Saturday 23 July.
Bringing together great music, beer and street food under one roof, the festival will take place across three sessions: 6pm-11pm on Friday, 11:30-4:30pm Saturday and 6pm-11pm Saturday.
With a line-up of world-class breweries, beer fans will be able to sample everything from sours to IPA’s, lagers to imperial stouts at this year’s event.

Run by the team behind Bigfoot Festival, music will come from the likes of UK jungle legend Goldie, soundsystem and radio DJ Norman Jay MBE, and electronic musician and composer David Holmes.

For £55 a ticket, guests will have access to unlimited beer throughout their chosen five-hour session. On top of that, they’ll also be given a special festival beer glass to take home and access to the festival’s pop-up street food kitchens.
Manchester breweries Manchester Union Lager, Black Jack, Track, Marble, Pomona Island and Beatnikz will all be in attendance, as well a host of top-tier breweries from further afield.

Further breweries confirmed to attend so far include Mondo, Timothy Taylors, North Brew Co., Brixton, Brew York, Vocation, Pastore, Alpha Delta, The Kernel and Burnt Mill.

And for those who are after something other than beer, there’ll also be stalls from Tappd Cocktails, Jim & Tonic and Ascension Cider.
The festival will also play host to the North West’s finest chefs, restaurants and popups taking stalls for the weekend – including a brand-new fire-pit cooking concept, which will see guest chefs take turns to serve up their own BBQ takes.
Speaking on the festival’s return, co-founder of We Are Beer, Greg Wells said: “After such a warm welcome last year, it was no question whether we’d return to Manchester.
“The city is home to many incredible breweries so it’s great to be able to bring everyone together to celebrate their contribution to the craft beer community!
“As well as local legends and newcomers, we’re excited to showcase international favourites and breweries from all over the UK.
“There’s really going to be something for everyone – beer lovers and even non-beer lovers, foodies, music heads, for those wanting a learning experience or simply a memorable night out! We’re very excited to be back.”
Police appeal for information after ‘attempted kidnapping’ in Wigan

A public appeal for information has been issued after the attempted kidnapping of a female in Wigan last week.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police‘s (GMP) Criminal Investigation Department are appealing for information and witnesses following the shocking incident, which occurred last Friday morning (9 January 2026) between 6:05am-6:20am.
The victim was walking along Central Park Way, in Wigan, when she was grabbed and threatened by a man who attempted to force her to come with him.
The victim managed to get free and to a place of safety, however the suspect fled the area.
The suspect is described by police as being a white male, approximately 6ft 1in tall, and was wearing grey joggers, black trainers, a yellow hi-vis vest, and a black beanie hat at the time of the incident.

The victim was grabbed and threatened and the suspect attempted to force her with him.
Officers are supporting the victim and investigating the incident, but at this time are now appealing to the public for information.
“Whilst we understand incidents of this nature are concerning, I want to reassure our communities that we take reports of this nature very seriously and the safety of the public is our top priority,” commented Detective Sergeant Andrew Partington, of GMP’s Wigan CID, as he appealed to the public.
“Our officers are taking every measure and following multiple lines of enquiry to investigate the circumstances of this incident.
“We have extra patrols in place around the area and if you have any concerns, our officers are always more than happy to support.”

The Boots recycling scheme where you can get £5 off every shop

UK high street retailer and healthcare shop Boots has launched an innovative recycling scheme that entitles customers to £5 off their future shopping trips.
If you’re still struggling to come up with a New Year’s resolution, why not try a spot of recycling and earn some money off your next cosmetics shop while you’re at it?
Started in 2020, the Boots Recycling Scheme allows Advantage Card holders the opportunity to get money while also being more conscious about how we recycle our used health and beauty products.
Their third-party app, Recycle at Boots, uses a ‘Scan2Recycle‘ system where users can upload items from various beauty brands by taking a picture of the empty packaging before identifying its form.
This scheme takes items that can’t usually be recycled at home, such as lotion pumps, toothpaste tubes, lipstick, mascaras, travel minis, make-up palettes and more.
Once you have five items approved, head over to your nearest participating Boots store, drop off your empties and scan the QR code on the deposit box.
After you’ve followed all these steps, a voucher will appear entitling you to 500 Advantage Points when you spend £10 in-store at your nearest location, and not only do you have £5 worth of points with your name on it, you’re also an eco-warrior.
There’s even a dedicated section of the app to recycling empty medicine and vitamin blister packs, which gives customers 100 Advantage Points when they spend £5 in-store.

Items dropped into these deposit boxes are taken to MyGroup, a recycling and waste management service which works around the clock to help divert waste from landfill.
These empties will be washed and traditionally recycled into a material called MyBoard, a construction board material most similar to plywood, with lots of different uses.
