Manchester’s second LEGO shop is opening up in the Trafford Centre
A new brick-and-mortar space for all the bricks.
Greater Manchester is getting a second LEGO shop as the global toy brand is setting up for a massive new store in the Trafford Centre.
The big new Trafford Centre shop will be LEGO’s 19th location in the UK and will feature an extensive range of predominantly brand-new products from the Danish company.
Opening up shop in a roomy 267sqm unit, the new Manchester site will feature a fun new ‘Pick-a-brick’ wall, allowing customers to select the exact elements they need to complete their builds.
There will also be a ‘Build a Minifigure’ tower which allows people to mix and match a wide range of items and accessories when making their own custom LEGO Minifigures.
Offering a slightly different experience from the existing store in the Arndale Centre, the new location will promise plenty of activity, with free-to-attend building challenges and with special events every month.
Amy Pearson, Director of EMEA Marketing at the LEGO Group, said in a press release: “We’ve been searching for the perfect location to open a second store in Greater Manchester and are thrilled to have found this within Trafford Centre.
“The new LEGO store will allow builders of all ages to be inspired by the endless play opportunities LEGO has to offer. This store will be a top retail destination for product launches and events, while acting as a hub for our tenured LEGO community and new builders alike, welcoming them to an exciting journey of discovery with the LEGO universe.”
As for the Trafford Centre, Centre Director Simon Layton added: “We’re absolutely delighted to be welcoming the LEGO Store to Trafford Centre. As a family-friendly retail and leisure destination, we’re confident that guests of all ages will love immersing themselves in this fun and colourful store.”
The official opening date is still yet to be confirmed but it is being slated for sometime this winter.
