Aldi is looking for engaged couples to supply free wine to on their wedding day, and applications are now open.
There’s no denying it anymore, we’re well and truly in ‘wedding season’ now.
Are you getting ready to tie the knot? Concerned about how much damage your big day will do to your bank balance, but still want to make sure your guests have a good time? If this sounds like you or someone you know, then thankfully, Aldi has just launched a new competition, and it could be exactly what you’re looking for.
The budget supermarket is pretty well-known for its wine selection at this point, so if you’re engaged and would consider yourself to be an Aldi wine advocate, then 60 bottles of the retailer‘s finest award-winning vino could be yours for free.

Launched to celebrate David and Victoria Beckham’s silver wedding anniversary (for some reason?), this new competition is open to all engaged couples across the UK – with three lucky lovebird duos set to be chosen as the winners of a selection of the supermarket’s top tipples, all paying a resemblance to some more pricey picks.

One of these wines Aldi’s popular Pierre Jaurant Bordeaux, which wine expert, Sam Caporn, says “allows for a taste” of the Beckhams’ favourite Château Mouton Rothschild, that would set you back a whopping £3,600 per bottle.
Aldi says its also chosen to launch this competition for lucky couples now after some recent research has revealed that, despite the rising cost of living crisis continuing to make its impact felt on millions nationwide, the average wedding now costs around £20,775.

This is apparently the first time the figure has topped £20,000 too, according to the research.
So, if you’re engaged and you fancy being in with a chance of receiving a wedding party-sized supply of Aldi’s wines, then all you’ll need to do enter sending an email to [email protected] with your full name, proof of age, date and location of your upcoming wedding, and 150 words explaining why you think you should be chosen as one of three lucky winners.
The competition closes on 25 July, with the three winners contacted after that deadline date, and you can find out more and full T&Cs here.

Channel 4 is looking for Manc couples to take part in a big ‘sex experiment’
Emily Sergeant
Channel 4 is currently casting for one of its boldest TV shows, and needs some “adventurous couples” from Greater Manchester to take part.
If you cast your minds back to right at the beginning of this year, you may remember that Channel 4 grabbed headlines when it announced that it was looking for adult virgins who were willing to volunteer themselves for a brand-new reality series with the working title ‘The Intimacy Retreat’.
The nature of the new TV show might not have come as a mega shock to some, as the broadcaster is also behind other sex-based reality shows such as Naked Attraction and Sex Box too.
But now, Channel 4 has put out another nationwide casting call, and this one’s for the potential third series of what is probably one of its most daring shows yet, Open House: The Great Sex Experiment – with producers currently on the look-out for the UK’s most “adventurous couples”, including those from Greater Manchester, to take part.

Unfamiliar with the premise of Open House: The Great Sex Experiment? Well, in a nutshell, the series basically explores whether relationships can thrive without monogamy.
In what is described as a “bold social experiment”, a group of monogamous couples are asked to consider, for the first time, if they would be happier in open relationships, while relationship coaches and sex therapists assist them in their journeys to challenging the notion that having sex with other people is at odds with being in a committed relationship.
However, it’s not all plain sailing, as the couples discover the difficulties involved with abandoning monogamy.

The casting call on the Channel 4 website reads: “Do you fancy taking part in a potential new series of ‘Open House: The Great Sex Experiment’? Do you question monogamy? Would you like the opportunity to explore opening up your relationship? In this bold concept, committed couples come to a luxury retreat to test whether opening up their relationships and having sex with other people will strengthen their bond.”
Reckon you’re up for it then? If you fancy taking part in the next series of Open House: The Great Sex Experiment, then head on over to the Channel 4 website to find out more and apply.
