Legendary Manc nightclub Sankeys finally announces new location
See you on the dancefloor
Sankeys has finally revealed its brand-new location ahead of the legendary club’s return this weekend.
The Manchester nightlife favourite most famously operated from an old mill in Ancoats, where it became the epicentre of the city’s club scene and one of the hottest venues in the world.
Sankeys permanently closed in Beehive Mill almost a decade ago – but now it’s returning to the city with a brand-new 500-capacity venue.
There’ll be an LED matrix installation and a no-VIP, no-phones dance floor policy, with the intention to bring a raw, immersive clubbing experience back to the city centre.
Until now, Sankeys had kept its new location strictly under wraps (and successfully sold out every night of its opening season).
But today, the club has confirmed its new home will be on Sidney Street in the city centre, just off Oxford Road.
Sankeys has also announced its first wave of artists, which will include Solardo, Heidi, Maya Jane Coles, Stacey Pullen, Magda, and loads more between February and June – with more still to be announced.
Sticking to its roots, Sankeys will champion fresh new electronic music and emerging talent, as well as legendary names.
It officially relaunches this weekend, with opening night on 30 January, followed by weekly events every Saturday from 7 February.
