Point Blank: Why Deansgate’s unique bar is so much more than just a shooting simulator

It didn’t take long for Point Blank to find its target.

The shooting simulation speakeasy arrived on Deansgate with a bang last summer and has sold out almost every Friday and Saturday since - offering customers the chance to immerse themselves in the very latest first-person firing technology.

But that’s only half the story.

Sure, the venue’s unique concept has stolen the headlines (there aren’t many other bars quite like it in the UK, never mind Manchester), but Point Blank has far more in its arsenal than you might have thought.

Turns out, this isn’t just a place for thrill-seekers.

It’s a spot for the cocktail crowd looking for something new. It’s a den for the foodies hoping to try a new spin on classic night-time cuisine. And it’s a pre-drinks space for the party people looking to warm up before the nightclub.

There’s a whole other (literal) side to this shooting cellar - with a glamorous prohibition-era style bar area serving some high calibre cocktails and great-tasting American-themed grub.

Taking inspiration from our transatlantic cousins, Point Blank specialise in hot wings, hot dogs and hot cheese nachos (which remain firm favourites among customers). There’s also mac and cheese nuggets, lemon sole bites, BBQ-style ribs and wide selection of top-notch veggie and vegan dishes to get stuck into.

Point Blank offers perfect shelter if you’re doing Dry January, too - with a wide array of delicious mocktails and non-alcoholic beers available. An added bonus for choosing the non-alcohol equivalent, of course, is that you’ll have a refreshingly steady hand if you fancy a go on the shooting range later.

The comfy bar is sheltered from the ranges next door with a irresistible playlist - with the roomy booths accommodating at least half a dozen people.

Point Blank caters for just about every kind of night out, from exclusive corporate events, to VIP evenings and day delegates, with footballers and models known to hit the venue from time to time. It’s also an ideal space to kick back and chill with some beers and scran. Whatever your plans, Point Blank is always worth a shot.

Check out their website here for more information and to book a booth.
