16-year-old boy charged following ‘reports of sexual assaults’ in Bolton park
He cannot be named for legal reasons.
A teenager has been charged following several reports of sexual assaults at a popular park in Bolton last week.
After Greater Manchester Police (GMP) received reports of several incidents which occurred around the Queen’s Park area, close to Bolton town centre, last Friday morning (21 June), it’s now been confirmed that a 16-year-old boy has been charged.
The teenager cannot be named for “legal reasons” at this time, GMP stated.
He has been charged with attempted robbery, attempted rape, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, kidnap, assault, and stalking.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and sexual assault, following several incidents early this morning.

According to GMP, the 16-year-old was remanded to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court today this past Saturday (22 June).
With a police investigation having subsequently opened following the incidents, and now well underway, investigating officers are now appealing for anyone with any information, or who may have seen some suspicious actions or items in the area, to come forward.
This includes anyone who may have possession of CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage.
“While we have secured a charge, we are continuing to appeal for information,” commented Detective Sergeant Carla Deighton.
“I would urge anyone who may have witnessed anything yesterday to please get in touch with us.”
