Deliveroo is hosting free food tours around UK cities in the coming weeks, where people can hop on board an Amsterdam-style pedal bike to tour their area’s culinary scene.
The Grub Crawl has been created to help new students in Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh and Bristol to make friends while grabbing a bite to eat.
Next week, students in Manchester will be able to climb into the saddle of a giant turquoise Deliveroo pedal bike.
Together they’ll visit four of the city’s hottest local food spots, handpicked by Deliveroo, including burger icons Almost Famous and dim sum legends Yum Cha.
It will also pop in to Bunsik, home of the cheese-pull-paradise Korean corn dogs, and Insomnia Cookies, which serves freshly-baked cookies until 3am.

Each Grub Crawl is headed up by experienced and local student reps.
The Grub Crawl has already visited Edinburgh and Leeds and will arrive in Manchester on 2 and 3 October.

The delivery platform has come up with the stunt to celebrate the launch of Deliveroo Students, which gives students free delivery throughout the academic year.
Its research found that 9 out of 10 (90%) of first-year students said ordering food and eating together is a great way to connect with new people.
After joining clubs and societies (57%), exploring local restaurants and takeaways (55%) is one of the top activities freshers are most looking forward to, followed by attending the Freshers’ Fair (55%) and discovering local nightlife (54%).

Fontaines D.C. announce massive return to Manchester on new European tour

Fontaines D.C. have just announced their biggest headline tour to date, including a massive arena gig here in Manchester.
The wildly popular Irish rock band are set to play a whopping 20 arena shows across Europe and the UK this autumn.
The tour has been announced in celebration of their upcoming fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, which is set for release this October.
Fontaines D.C. will hit the road just five days after the album drops, kicking off their European tour in Lisbon on 21 October.
Then they’ll make their way over to the UK, with shows in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Glasgow, Birmingham and London.
Fans in their home country of Ireland are told to stay tuned for live news very soon.
As we speak, Fontaines D.C. are warming up to play one of the country’s biggest festivals, with headline slots at Reading & Leeds Festival.
They’ve already released Marianne, the first single from their new album, and frontman Grian Chatten says of the album: “The album itself is a dopamine chamber. You step inside and we test these different mind- or mood-altering pieces of music on you.”
The new record has been recorded between London, the English countryside, and Palermo, where Chatten recorded vocals in a makeshift booth built from mattresses and cushions.
He said: “There’s a poignant sense of us being on the brink of some other kind of form of humanity, or non-humanity.”
Tickets will go on general sale at 10am on Thursday 3 September, with pre-sale live from 10am on Tuesday 1 September.

Chester Zoo has announced the return of its popular £10 tickets deal for a limited time only.
You may remember that earlier this summer, Chester Zoo invited people from across the North West to visit for just £10, and as the offer proved so popular, they’ve now brought it back again for a limited time.
For the past three years running now, Chester Zoo has officially been named the UK’s best zoo thanks to tens of thousands of positive TripAdvisor reviews, and now as the summer draws to a close, you’ll get to see exactly what makes it such a special place worth visiting for a cut price.
With the offer only applicable to afternoons this summer, Afternoon Tickets allow entry to Chester Zoo from 2pm onwards – with the last entry being one-hour before it closes.

Without this offer, standard admission tickets to Chester Zoo usually cost up to £38 for adults, £37 for students, and £28 for children, all including a 10% donation to the zoo’s conservation efforts, while babies and carers go free.
