Live music to start again as drive-in gigs confirmed across Britain
The gigs are set to accommodate 300 cars, intending to offer a socially-distanced alternative to cancelled events in 2020.
Live gigs will be hosted across the UK for the first time in months from July – with musicians set to perform at drive-in venues.
Promoter Live Nation has announced a series of “Live From The Drive-In” events – which will see ticket-holders take their cars to the show.
The University of Bolton Stadium is among 12 specially-chosen venues for the summer series – with Sigala, Dizzee Rascal, The Streets, The Zutons, Tony Hadley and Gary Numan all booked to play in Greater Manchester on separate dates in July and August.
Acts will also perform at outdoor spaces in Birmingham, Liverpool, London, Edinburgh and Bristol.
Live Nation states: “Some of the biggest names in UK music will perform live on stage backed by a full concert production that audiences can experience from the comfort and safety of their own designated area.
“With movies and family events also to be added to the schedule, this will be a live experience like no other.”
The gigs are set to accommodate 300 cars, intending to offer a socially-distanced alternative to cancelled events in 2020.
Attendees can stand outside their vehicles in allocated spaces and sit in their own fold-out chairs.
Pets are not permitted to enter, and food & drink cannot be brought into the area.
