Birds Eye caused an absolute ruckus on social media yesterday when they revealed an alternative way to cook their famous potato waffles.
Usually, you'd chuck your waffles in the oven, straight on the shelf wire (or on a tray if you're feeling less lazy) and give them 20 minutes or so. But, there's a much easier cooking option...
So what is this game changing new way to grill your tater grids? Just stick them in the toaster.
The time-saving method has been officially approved by Birds Eye after the company allegedly conducted "103 hours of tests using 3,000 waffles."
Of course, the confirmation from Birds Eye only comes after many waffle fans recently claimed on social media that they've been cooking theirs in the toaster all their lives.
Did you know, you can cook our potato waffles in the toaster?— Birds Eye UK (@BirdsEyeUK) November 27, 2019
Now, after these revelations, it's alleged that Birds Eye are going to start printing toaster cooking instructions on their packaging.
Speaking about the testing, Steve Challouma, Marketing Director at Birds Eye, said: "We know there has been a lot of confusion and debate on this way of cooking our Original Potato Waffles so we decided to put it to the test.
"After days of rigorous 'toasting', we're happy to confirm it is safe to cook our waffles this way and it doesn't compromise on taste either - you can still expect the same delicious taste that is crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle!"
It's decided, waffles for tea tonight... Who else cooks theirs this way?
