A new Grumpy Pedro’s spin-off cafe has appeared up north, and it’s given fans of Manchester’s part-time pizza parlour Crazy Pedro’s a right giggle.
The party bar shared a picture of the crabby cafe on its Instagram page this week, giving its followers a bit of a chuckle as it simply wrote underneath ‘Spin Off’.
Whilst some wondered if there was a connection between the two businesses, plenty more leaned into the opportunity to have a good laugh at Pedro’s – and their own – expense.
One person wrote: “Ahh I walked past this the other day and wondered if there was a connection!” with a sweating laughing emoji.
Others have been busy poking a bit of fun at the name, as they took to the comment section to joke that this daytime Pedro’s operation was, essentially, the ‘Hangover Pedro’s’.

One person simply wrote: “GET TA F*CK” with three heart-eyed emojis.
Another person wrote: “Or the truth” with a hands-out emoji.

Another said: “HYPERVENTILATING”
A fourth added: “Everyone’s grumpy b4 a Pedro’s fix.”
The Grumpy Pedro’s cafe, which is based in Glasgow, features an unimpressed-looking coffee cup as part of its logo and describes itself being ‘as cheeky as it is delicious.’
Serving an all-day menu that spans coffees, breakfast, brunch and lunch, it first opened in the Scottish city this year.
Disappointingly though, despite some jokes from the Manchester-based Pedro’s team, it doesn’t appear that there is any real affiliation between the two.
Who knows, though, perhaps they’ll be inspired to launch a grumpy wing down here. There certainly seems to be an appetite for it.
Crazy Pedro’s currently has two sites in Manchester and a third in Liverpool. It previously also had a fourth site in Digbeth, Birmingham, however, this shut quietly in May after less than a year, with Birmingham Live reporting that the chain did no respond to any of its enquiries as to the future of the location.
Loved in Manchester for its quality New York-style pizzas, available by the slice or the pie and loaded with some weird and wacky toppings (although the pepperoni and margherita are also solid classics), it seems there’d certainly be room -and customers – for a Grumpy Pedro’s cafe, should the team ever fancy making their way down here.

Keo play Projekts: garage and grunge revivalists crush Manchester skatepark for new music video

This past Thursday evening, fast-rising rock band Keo took over Projekts MCR skatepark for a special pop-up gig and to film a brand-new music video for their latest single, ‘Pistol’, starring some of their biggest fans here in Manchester.
In fact, it didn’t take long for us to suss out that plenty of them had flocked from far and wide to be there, and let’s say we’re sure they’ll say it was worth the journey.
We caught Keo’s well-attended festival set inside the Woodlands at Kendal Calling 2025, not to mention their completely sold-out show at the O2 Ritz back in March – their biggest headline date up to that point – and we’re more certain than ever that they’re going to be absolutely massive.
And if they keep up doing more memorable stuff like this, it’s just a matter of how soon…
Packing out Projekts to the point that people were literally hanging off fences and standing on electrical boxes at the side of the street to try and get a peek at the post-punk, grunge and garage rockers, some of their most enthusiastic young fans had been waiting outside the location as early as noon.
For context, doors opened six hours later, and the boys didn’t come on until 7:30pm.
Those who signed up to Keo‘s mailing list were sent information regarding securing a spot at the one-off performance earlier this month.
While you would have seen the place fill up even if they were just standard concert tickets, the fact that the band were taping the whole thing to use as the visuals for their newest single, as mentioned, meant that Keo’s avid followers were literally clamouring AND clambering to get the best view position possible.
Turning the popular skaters’ hub’s central bowl into a makeshift stage, with lights, camera, booms and various crew surrounding the entire venue, it was a surreal experience to say the least.
And, of course, they were absolutely brilliant – just as they were at the Ritz at the start of the year and Kendal before that, playing a short but sweet set that left everyone wanting more and choruses of punters chanting Keo long after the final song.
We can’t wait to see how the video itself turns out, especially seeing how much the people who wrapped around them and the skatepark were lost in the moment, and we’re also looking forward to them headlining Neighbourhood Fest in Manchester city centre this October.

Trailer for Clayface gives closer look at Batman villain in new DC film shot in Greater Manchester

DC have dropped a brand-new trailer for the upcoming Clayface film: a new ‘body horror’ movie by the Hollywood studio and superhero franchise.
Giving the first extended look at the cult favourite Batman villain, it’s set to be one of the darkest and most disturbing big-budget DC projects for some time.
Set to release on 23 October, it drops in just time for ‘spooky season’, and judging by this latest trailer, they’re certainly doubling down on the creepiest sides of the character. If you’re a bit squeamish, we’d say proceed with caution:
It’s certainly a striking reveal and has some of the most mature themes we’ve seen from DC over the years; that’s what you get when you park a supervillain like this.
For anyone who hasn’t come across Clayface before, it is an alias used by multiple individuals in the comics, including Basil Karlo and Preston Payne.
However, this version of the alter ego follows the story of Matt Hagen, a struggling actor who suffers serious disfiguration and experiments with experimental science before embarking on a tale of revenge.
While this differs somewhat from Hagen’s original backstory, without straying into spoiler territory, there’s plenty to be made from the trailer, as you can see.
If you’re wondering what kind of film to expect beyond what you’re now already aware of, it’s worth noting that James Watkins is known for films such as The Woman In Black (2012), Bastille Day (2016), and the heavily nominated James McAvoy-led movie, Speak No Evil (2024).
We were lucky enough to walk past their other major period of filming over in Manchester city centre last September, where the often-used Castlefield doubled as Gotham.
