Lidl and Hunsnet are hosting a drag brunch in Manchester next month – and tickets are only £6

Lidl has partnered with Hunsnet to host its first-ever drag brunches, and there’s one happening in Manchester next month.

Exclusive to just London and Manchester, the #LiveLaughLidl Drag Brunches are all sounding set to offer “a visual and literal feast” by bringing together two huntastic cultural icons in a showstopping spectacle to celebrate the supermarket retailer’s ties to the ‘hun’ subculture.

Greater Manchester huns can get a ticket to the one-off event in Manchester next month for a bargain £6.49, along with with a £20 deposit that’s returnable upon attendance.

Guests who attend the event at popular city centre venue, Impossible, will be lavished with all the delicious Lidl canapés, luxurious cocktails, and prosecco they could wish for, before tucking into a mouthwatering brunch course – with some of the options on the menu for mains being the ‘Got The Chi-Ick’ Fried Chicken Burger and the ‘365 Planty Girl’ Vegan Burger.

After a slap-up meal, there will be a special performance hosted by Hunsnet, packed full of all the so-called ‘hundamentals’ needed for a proper good time.

There’ll also be Lidl-themed bingo to get involved with, some dazzling drag performances, celebrity appearances, and loads of cult-status ‘Middle Aisle’ prizes to be won, as well as getting to take a goodie-bag-to-go full of Lidl surprises home with you.

The #LiveLaughLidl Drag Brunch is happening at Impossible in Manchester on Sunday 20 October from 1:30-3:30pm, and tickets go on sale tomorrow (Friday 27 September) at 9am for just £6.49, with a £20 deposit for return upon entry, available while stocks last.

McDonald’s is launching loads of new limited-edition items to its UK menu next month, but all eyes are on one thing.

One thing. Three words… mini hash browns.

Hash browns are an integral part of British cuisine at this point, right? Those little crispy potato creations prove time and time again to be an ideal snack for anyone who finds themselves a bit reliant on fried food to get through a hangover from hell, or merely just to wake up on a lazy Sunday morning.

McDonald’s is already pretty well-loved for its hash browns, but the fast food chain is set to take that love up a notch as it’s set to add mini bitesize versions to the menu next month.

With autumn now officially here, McDonald’s is updating its UK menu for the new season, with the McRib, McCrispy Deluxe, and the return of the Double Big Mac all sounding set to be fan favourites, as well as seasonal sweet treats like the Toffee Apple Pie, the M&M Halloween McFlurry, and Toasted Marshmallow Lattes.

Foodie fans on social media also seem to like the sounds of the new Smokey Caramelised Onion Bites too, which look like little onion rings.

But nothing quite beats the anticipation for the new Mini Hash Browns.

Set to be available in individual portions of five for £1.49, or Shareboxes of 15 for £2.99 if you’re feeling a little more peckish, the Mini Hash Browns are the same golden crunchy and fluffy potato goodness that Maccies is known for, but in a new and fun style.

McDonald’s is hoping this tiny take on the classic hash brown will be the perfect treat to “brighten your morning”, whether you’re on-the-go, or enjoying a leisurely breakfast.

The FC Twente fans are in town for their side’s Europa League meeting against Manchester United this week but they arrived a bit earlier than some expected and decided to catch another game beforehand: the EFL match between Man City and Watford.

Yes, that same, tired old running joke seems to have rung true – at least this time.

It’s no secret that League Cup matches are much less well-attended than Premier League fixtures or European nights, so it was never going to be a sell-out crowd at the Etihad Stadium on this occasion – much to the delight of the Dutch supporters clearly enjoying an away day, or two.

Numerous clips were shared online and quickly went viral, with plenty of City supporters clearly amused by sudden pockets of Twente fans sprouting up around the ground.

As you’d expect, this was lapped up by other football fans online, especially those of rival clubs.

All the usual suspects were rolled out: “At least they may slightly fill the Etihad for once”, “It was still half empty”, “You might finally hear a song” and so on.

To play devil’s advocate and do some Man City myth-busting for a moment, the stadium’s capacity is just over 53,000 and their attendances haven’t dropped below 50,000 once yet this season, the previous match recording a footfall of 52,846 for the game against Arsenal.

In fact, the red half of Manchester had a big scandal late last year when an estimated 2,000 Galatasaray fans ended up watching from within the home sections inside Old Trafford.

All that being said, there were plenty of Blues who were much enthused about the delegation of Twente fans’ presence in the ground.

You have to give it to them though, they made plenty of noise.

Man City went on to win the game 2-1 thanks to goals from Jeremy Doku and Matheus Nunes, as well as more minutes for youngsters James McAtee and Nico O’Reilly, who both started the game.

There was also a debut for 16-year-old debutant Kaden Braithwaite as they cruised fairly comfortably into the next round.

As for Twente, the Eredivisie side kicks off against compatriot Erik ten Hag’s side on Wednesday evening as Man United get the opening game of this year’s European campaign underway at 8pm – the fans have already taken over Shambles Square in the city and will soon be marching on Old Trafford.
