Every Netflix session poses a dilemma.

The streaming service’s catalogue has grown at an astonishing rate over the past few years – and the problem now is that there’s almost too much choice.

Settling on a programme is hard work.

Many Netflix users spend half their time trying to determine what they’re ‘in the mood’ for, whilst the couples’ ‘what shall we watch tonight?’ debate has become more intense than ever before.

Thankfully, it seems like a solution is finally in sight.

Netflix is testing out a brand new feature that chooses your programme for you.

The ‘shuffle’ button is basically a spin of the wheel. You hit it and see what Netflix lands on.

Although according to developers, the selection is not entirely random.

Netflix says the ‘shuffle’ function works by picking content it thinks you might like; whether that’s a show you’re currently watching, an item on your saved list, or an old favourite you’ve seen before.

If you’ve got the Netflix app for your smart TV, navigate to the user page. You may spot the ‘shuffle’ button lurking below your name right now…

Netflix has confirmed it will continue to roll out the shuffle button to members worldwide over the coming weeks, acquiring feedback in the process and using this to determine whether it will be a lasting feature.

It could prove to be a real saviour for some relationships…
