You could stay overnight in the actual Home Alone house
It’s one of the most recognisable homes from the world of cinema – and now you can stay within its walls on your holiday.
The actual house from Home Alone – arguably the best Christmas film of all time – is going up for rent on Airbnb.
Four guests will be able to relive all the mischief and magic of the film on an overnight stay.
The accommodation includes a cozy holiday scene, booby traps (to set, not to get caught in), and a LEGO Home Alone set to take and build back in your own home.
Guests will also be able to recreate their favourite scenes from the film – with aftershave on hand for a good scream into the mirror, and a meet and greet with a real-life tarantula.
There’ll also be Chicago’s finest pizza, and a candlelit dinner of Kraft mac and cheese.
Airbnb has promised that there won’t be ‘interruptions from pesky intruders’ this time, unlike the film itself where young Kevin McCallister set booby traps aplenty for a pair of dim-witted burglars.
The rental has appeared to celebrate the release of Home Sweet Home Alone, a reboot of the 1990 classic.
The Chicago home is apparently hosted by Buzz McCallister, Kevin’s big boisterous brother.
“You may not remember me as particularly accommodating,” says Buzz.
“Bbut I’ve grown up, and I’d be happy to share my family home – my pizza, even – with you this holiday season. Just try not to let my tarantula, Axl, loose this time.
“We may all be older and wiser now, but we’re never too old for holiday hijinks.
“So this year, spend the holidays not-so-home-alone at my parents’ house.”
The McCallister home from Home Alone will be available for up to four guests for one night only, on December 12, for only $25 US.
You can request to book it from Tuesday December 7 at 1pm CT, at airbnb.com/homealone.
