Manchester’s secret suntrap street will throw a huge three-day live music festival this weekend, alongside family-friendly Pride fun.
The Great Northern Warehouse’s sun terraces will be serving up sun, food, drinks, and live music throughout the bank holiday weekend.
Lion’s Den will welcome Manc music legend Clint Boon to its newly refurbished terrace space as part of Den Fest, alongside live performances from rising talent.
The bar’s pop-up outdoor stage will welcome more than 25 different artists, bands and DJs between 26 and 28 August – and it’s totally free to attend.
The line-up features up-and-coming indie artists including Colliders, Bedside Manners, The Common View and Reave.

Any proceeds raised from Den Fest will be donated to local charity Forever Manchester, which supports community activity across the region.

Elsewhere at the Great Northern Warehouse, its giant outdoor sandpit will host a series of free, family-friendly events, in collaboration with Family Pride MCR and LGBTQ+ charity Proud 2 b Parents.

The Palaver Party will be an inclusive and celebratory event, hosted in the square and amphitheatre, with live performances celebrating queer identities for children and families.
There’ll be a magic show, a mini disco, arts and crafts, party games, prizes and free play, aimed at children aged between three and eight.

The Book Nook, Great Northern Warehouse’s community library on the first floor of the warehouse building, will hold a human library and quiet chill-out areas in collaboration with Proud 2 b Parents.

You can start with brunch or lunch at Another Hand – recently shortlisted as Newcomer of the year and Restaurant of the year at the Manchester Food and Drink Awards – where the ever-changing menu features small plates and perfect eggs on Holy Grain sourdough.

Another Hand is open Wednesday to Saturday from 10am until 3pm, with the small plates menu available from 5pm until 10pm.
There are delicious milkshakes, cakes and bakes at Alex’s Bakery, like brand-new Cake Pots, made up of fluffy carrot flavoured sponge cake with the bakery’s top-secret recipe vanilla cream, topped off with freshly whipped cream.

The largest sun terrace of the lot is at Impossible, which is open late between Tuesdays and Sundays.
There are two-for-£12 cocktails between Sunday and Thursday, including the Vimto Bramble, a delicious mix of double Beefeater gin, lemon and drizzled in Vimto syrup.
Almost Famous are based here too, and will be offering 50% off all burgers on Thursday 25 August to celebrate National Burger Day.
The burger legends have just added new ice cream cookie sandwiches to the menu too, using freshly-baked cookies and Cheshire Farm ice cream, rolled in a biscuit crumb.

Ruben Amorim reportedly paying for staff members flights ahead of the Europa League final

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly covering the cost of flights for several staff members and families around the club ahead of this month’s Europa League final.
Taking place on Wednesday, 21 May, Man United take on Spurs in UEFA’s second-string continental competition, giving the Red Devils a chance at lifting the trophy for the second time and, more importantly, getting into the Champions League next year.
Not only is this European final in a United manager’s maiden season a feat only previously achieved by Jose Mourinho, who also won it in his inaugural campaign at the club, but it also happens to be the first of Amorim’s career full stop.
With that in mind, the Portuguese head coach is hoping to rope in as much positivity and support as possible, so despite cost-cutting measures around the club over the last 18 months, Amorim is reaching into his own pocket to pay for staff and some of the family members to be at the final.

Now this is the kind of leadership supporters like to see.
According to ESPN sports writer Mark Ogden, at least 30 members of his backroom staff have seen their travel to the final paid for after the club said they would not be covering the increasingly inflated prices, with flights to Bilbao unsurprisingly skyrocketing.
The Athletic‘s Mark Critchley has gone on to detail that “coaches, physios and support staff would instead be able to purchase up to two tickets”, while only two complimentary family tickets have been granted per player.
If you’re wondering why fans continue to make his name echo around the Theatre of Dreams in spite of poor performances, gestures like this should tell you why.
The 40-year-old’s debut Premier League season might be one to forget, with his team set to record United’s worst-ever finish, but a final at the first time of asking, even with a squad that’s visibly struggling to adjust to yet another period of overhaul, is still an achievement – especially a European one.
In addition to admitting that he’s been left “embarrassed” by the league form, he says one of his biggest fears is that everyone around Old Trafford is “losing the feeling of being a massive club”, both inside and out. Obviously, he’s hoping that potentially winning another European title will help fix that.
United played out a forgettable 2-0 loss to West Ham this past weekend in what should have felt like a bit of a free hit, but ultimately resulted in starting centre-back Leny Yoro picking up another injury and key players exerting a lot more energy than many would have hoped.
Most fans were expecting to see the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire, Amad Diallo and so on rested to keep that balance between sharpness and recovery, but many first-choice players played far more minutes than was arguably necessary.
Whether or not this is all in line with his thinking, we’ll have to wait and see when the Reds rock up to the Basque Country a week from now
A FREE event where little Mancs can meet Bluey is coming to MediaCity this half term

There’s a free event making its way to MediaCity this half term, and its fronted by a very familiar children’s TV character.
As schools across Greater Manchester are out for half term at the end of this month, toy manufacturers Little Tikes are heading to MediaCity and bringing everyone’s favourite adventurous puppy Bluey along for the ride too.
And better yet, it’s all completely free.
This day-long event – which is to celebrate the launch of Little Tikes and Bluey’s collaboration – will feature an abundance of Little Tikes toys for kids to try out, while parents can put their feet up and watch some Bluey on the big outdoor screen.
Alongside some much needed rest for parents, kids and adults alike can take part in a ‘Spin to Win’-style competition and even get their face painted.
Whilst playing around with items such as the ‘Bluey Beach Day Sandbox’ and ‘Bluey Beach Water Table’, fan-favourite moments from the show will be broadcast onto the big screen.
There’s also a foot-to-floor car which kids can zoom around in titled ‘Bluey Grannies Car Coupe’, and the log flume inspired ‘Bluey Bushland Adventure’ where you can splash around mini-figurines from the TV show.
If that wasn’t enough Bluey for you in one day, the cute pup herself will be meeting and greeting little ones throughout the day – what more could you ask for?
