Boutique bowling alley bar Lane7 to open in Altrincham this summer
It's the first occupier announced for a BIG local development.
A popular boutique bowling alley brand is set to open in Altrincham later this year, as the first occupier in the new Foundation building.
Lane7, which already has a huge presence across the UK (including a graffiti and neon-covered bar in Manchester city centre), will take over the lower ground floor of the development.
It’s the first occupier to be announced for Foundation, a landmark development for the Trafford town from Bruntwood and Trafford Council.
The former Rackhams building, once home to House of Fraser, is being transformed into a new leisure, retail and workspace offering to the Stamford Quarter.
Lane7 will spill out onto Stamford Square, joining neighbouring local businesses like coffee and vinyl specialists Stutter and Twitch, jewellery studio Muse, and boutique Skanda Clothing.
It will take over 12,640 sq ft of space inside Foundation, with eight lanes of bowling.
Graeme Smith, Lane7’s chief operating officer, said: “The opportunity with this venue was exceptional and gives us an amazing blank canvas to be really creative.
“We opened Lane7 Manchester and the response from our guests in the city has been phenomenal since opening more than two years ago, Altrincham seemed like the perfect fit.”
James Tootle, head of retail and leisure at Bruntwood, commented: “We’re thrilled to announce Lane7 as our first occupier at Foundation.

“Our ambition is to create a vibrant destination that transforms this side of Altrincham and Lane7 is the perfect brand to cement this vision.
“Fiercely independent and brilliant at what they do, Lane7 will provide a superb leisure anchor for Foundation and the Stamford Quarter as a whole. Lane7 will sit alongside a whole collective of hospitality and retail brands at Foundation creating an exciting new hub at the heart of the Stamford Quarter.”
Cllr Liz Patel, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration commented:
“The redevelopment of Altrincham town centre is very exciting and we are delighted that Lane7 are on board with us. This will be a fabulous addition to the new Stamford Quarter.”
