Cinemas may be closed, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy cinematic experiences. With a little guidance, you can recreate the atmosphere of a movie theatre in your very own home.

That's the idea behind The Village Screen Quarantine Cinema - which offers a free ticket to a virtual film event that's screened around the world.

Beaming out from 7pm via Facebook, the Quarantine Cinema will kick off with a food menu produced in collaboration with vendors like Pinch N Pull, Proove Pizza and Bueno Burgers.

Viewers can watch the cooking demos and whip up some mighty grub ready for the when the movie begins (ingredients lists will be posted closer to the time so you have everything you need to be fully prepped).

Cocktail-mixing sessions will also take place, along with a thumping live DJ set and prize giveaway.

With food and drinks at the ready, viewers can then tune into Thelma & Louise at 9pm - the very definition of escapist entertainment.

Village Screen are planning to run these events on a regular basis, and you can get involved in the very first Quarantine Cinema by heading over to the event page on Facebook.
