Tyson Fury is gearing up for what could be one of his last fights next month as he outlines his plans for retirement after hanging up his gloves.
The 33-year-old Wythenshawe-born boxer and self-proclaimed ‘gypsy king’ is currently hard at work and training for what he’s recently claimed could bring an end to his illustrious career when he comes up against fellow Brit Dillian Whyte for the highly-anticipated heavyweight showdown at Wembley Stadium on 23 April.
Although boxing fans have been left surprised by Fury teasing his retirement, as it was widely expected that he would take on either Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight unification clash, he’s made it clear he doesn’t need to take any more fights in his future.
With an undefeated record of 31 wins and a draw against Deontay Wilder, Fury revealed that his reason for retiring comes down to the fact he has more money than he’ll ever need.
Speaking to BT Sport about why he wants to retire after the Whyte match, Fury explained: “The only thing I can gain is money, so after this fight, I’ll have earned over £100 million. If I can spend that, I don’t deserve any more, do I? I know Mike Tyson spent half a billion and Evander Holyfield £400 million and all the rest, but I don’t live their big flash lifestyles.

“I live in Morecambe [and] it’s cheap there. I don’t have any big habits, like I’m gambling tons of money away, I don’t do anything.
“I can never spend the money I’ve got.”

“[There’s] a lot of opportunities that don’t involve me getting brain damage. I’ve got six kids and a wife. When is enough enough? Why do I have to be one of those people who went on too long and got injured? Just had one too many fights and blew it all for what? A few more quid?”
Revealing what he hopes to achieve before the end of his career, Fury added: “‘I want to retire on top, unbeaten heavyweight champion of the world, and I want to do a Netflix documentary, a Hollywood movie, and be a good husband, father and son.

“Most of all I just want to be happy, and that’s probably the hardest thing.”
It’s not just his retirement plans that Fury’s been speaking about the run-up to the Whyte clash either, as he’s also jokingly revealed in a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on YouTube that he puts most of the successes in his career down to “masturbation seven times a day”.

Manchester City manager and club legend Pep Guardiola looks all set to leave the Etihad at the end of this season, and it appears that Enzo Maresca has already been identified as his replacement.
With the game-changing Catalan head coach now seemingly gearing up to leave Man City after a decade, following the conclusion of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign (which his side could very well still win), Blues are already getting ready to bid a bittersweet goodbye.
You won’t find many City supporters who will be happy to see him go, having overseen not only a period of dominance but the most successful period in their history – one that has quite literally changed English football – but they will at least be optimistic about the frontrunner to succeed him.
As per the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano, among other sources, an agreement is said to have been reached for the Italian to take over in East Manchester.

Obviously, this is all still pending an official announcement by the club, which may now be moving up their plans to confirm Pep’s departure since the news was first reported on Monday, 18 May.
According to The Athletic‘s Sam Lee, who was part of the outlet’s team that helped break the story alongside David Ornstein, the 46-year-old has been earmarked for the top job for more than half a decade, as it turns out.
He states that former City Football Group exec and director of football, Txiki Begiristain, already believed Maresca could follow in the Spaniard’s footseps back in 2020.
Yes, it’s also worth reminding that Maresca has already worked as part of the staff at the Etihad Campus, not only leading their Elite Development Squad (EDS) of U23s players, but also being part of the backroom staff alongside the serial winner, serving as an assistant coach in 2022.

Preparations are underway for the outcome that Guardiola will leave – and Enzo Maresca is most likely to become his successor.
The 46-year-old has gone on to win the likes of the Championship, UEFA Conference League title and a FIFA Club World Cup in his last two jobs at Leicester and Chelsea, respectively, barring his very first stint at Parma in 2021 when he missed out getting his side promoted.
Safe to say that Maresca has quickly gone on to be one of the most promising managerial prospects in a relatively short space of time, and was even linked with being both the England boss and a rival position for Manchester United at one point or another.

Donny Osmond books biggest-ever Manchester gig

Iconic American singer and actor Donny Osmond has announced his biggest-ever Manchester concert as part of his upcoming ‘VIVA UK’ tour dates.
Bringing his famous Las Vegas residency show to Great Britain, where he has always had a fervent following, the younger Osmond brother will be making a venue debut over six decades into his career.
Famously part of the musical family who not only sang together but also saw multiple TV shows created in their name – including his very own spin-off, Donny and Marie – he’s been around longer than most in showbiz, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.
Confirming a whole new run of live dates across the country, Donny Osmond will be returning to Manchester early next year.
Writing on social media, the veteran entertainer said: “I’m so pleased to finally share the official 2027 UK tour dates with you.
“It always means so much to return to the UK – the audiences there have given me some of the most unforgettable moments of my career.”
As for here in our city, he last played Manchester back just a few short years ago at the AO Arena, selling out the 20,000-seater space on 29 November 2023.
Now, though, he’s upgrading to approximately 23k this time, with die-hard fans being encouraged to download his very own ‘Donny App’ to secure the earliest possible access.
