Antony made Man United history with goal against Everton

He's broken a club record previously set by some impressive names.

Manchester United were back to winning ways following the derby day disaster with with a 2-1 win against Everton on Sunday night.

While the headline was Ronaldo’s winner making it 700 club goals, he wasn’t the only one who made history on the night with Antony also getting on the scoresheet for the third Premier League gaming running.

Not only is that three in three for the Brazilian new boy but in doing so, he has also become the first ever Man United player to achieve that feat with his finish against the Toffees at Goodison Park.

Both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku held the record previously, scoring in their opening two league games, but the 22-year-old’s important equaliser has now seen him go ahead of them as his fantastic start to life in Manchester continues.

He took to Twitter after the game to thank the fans for their support, adding that though he is already “making history and living the dream”, there is still more to come.

Antony was United’s biggest signing of the summer, arriving for a reported £86 million back in September. He moved into former Red Devil Paul Pogba’s previous Hale Barns home, estimated to be worth more than £3m, earlier this month.

Notably, fans will be pleased that his previous goals came in big games too, scoring against league leaders Arsenal, as well as getting one back for the away side in the mauling against Manchester City.

It looks as though he has already proved he can perform when it comes to the big occasions and Reds will be hoping for more of the same as they look towards the upcoming games.
