A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of robbery after threatening a young mother and baby at knifepoint.
Officers were called to reports that a vehicle had been stolen from Mytham Road in Little Lever at around 5pm yesterday.
The victim was a 24-year-old woman who was holding her 10-week-old newborn baby at the time, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Police were first called to the report of a knife-point robbery, but were later called out to a road traffic collision in relation to the stolen vehicle.

The second scene, at around 7.30pm on Great Western Street, led to the arrest of a 17-year-old boy, who remains in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
GMP detectives are now looking for more information to help with their enquiries, such as dashcam footage and eye witnesses.

Any sightings of the vehicle – a dark grey Seat Cupra with the registration XL02 DEC – across the two-hour period between the robbery and the teen’s arrest should be reported to police.
Detective Sergeant Carla Deighton from the Bolton district said, “We’re treating this incident very seriously and after a quick response from our officers we were able to track down and detain a suspect in relation to what happened.
“I also want to reassure our local community that we have increased high-visibility patrols in the area as a result.
“We understand this incident will cause some serious concern, but we are continuing to work hard to ensure we can bring justice to the victim who was going about their daily business.
“We are now appealing to the public to help with any vital information they have that will help in our investigation and in particular anyone who may have caught the vehicle on their dashcam between 5-7:30pm.”

Four men arrested and hundreds of cannabis plants seized during police raids in Radcliffe

Early-morning raids were conducted in Radcliffe this week, and it saw four men arrested and hundreds of cannabis plants seized.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) explained that, at around 8am yesterday morning (14 April), officers from the Radcliffe Neighbourhood Policing Team attended an address on Bridgefield Street, following an investigation into drugs supply within the local area.
When they entered the property, police found six rooms filled with cannabis plants at various stages of their growth cycle, as well as various lighting equipment, fans, pipes, and other drug-growing paraphernalia.
In total, 663 cannabis plants were seized by officers.
The electricity used at the premises was also discovered to have been ‘illegally bypassed’, and GMP says work is now ‘ongoing’ to ensure it’s safely disconnected.
Following the raids, GMP confirmed that four men – who are aged between 33 and 55- have been arrested on suspicion of producing a Class B drug and abstracting electricity, and they remain in custody for questioning at this time.
The raids were said to come as part of GMP’s wider work in tackling drugs supply.
“This was a great result for the local neighbourhood team, who secured four arrests and seized hundreds of plants,” commented Chief Inspector Michael Barton, from GMP’s Bury district.
“Drug dealing is not something that is a victimless crime.
“The violence between gangs and exploitation of vulnerable people is something that we unfortunately see across Greater Manchester, and is something we are constantly working to tackle.”

Two men charged with rape of teenage girl under 16 in Manchester city centre

Two men have been charged with the rape of a teenager girl under 16 years of age in Manchester city centre.
Mario-Alexandru Ratou and Mario-Vifor Ratou, who are both Romanian nationals of no fixed abode, have been charged with rape of a girl aged under 16, while the latter was also charged with false imprisonment.
They were arrested last Tuesday (7 April 2026), Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed, after a report of rape at a flat in the Green Quarter area of the city earlier the same day.
A third man in his 20s was also arrested on suspicion of rape, but he has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
Speaking following the two men being charged this week, Chief Superintendent David Meeney, who is GMP’s City of Manchester District Commander, said: “Our priority is ensuring the girl, and her two friends who were with her at the time of the attack, continue to receive specialist support during this traumatic time, and as this case proceeds through the court.
“We know this will cause concern across our communities, however as criminal proceedings are now active, I urge the public not to speculate so the legal process can take its proper course for the girl and her family.
“We remain firmly committed to protecting young girls across Greater Manchester and to help people feel safe.
“I ask that the public continue to support us, so if you have any information that could help the investigation, please come forward and report it.”
