Lewis Capaldi to play special outdoor gig at Wythenshawe Park this summer

Lewis Capaldi has announced a huge outdoor summer concert at Wythenshawe Park in Manchester.

The Scottish singing sensation will return to our city for a very special open-air gig, in support of his much-anticipated second album.

This summer will be the first time a concert series has been held at Wythenshawe Park, with Noel Gallagher also announcing a massive summer show.

Two-time BRIT Award-winner Lewis will be taking to the stage on Friday 25 August.

The announcement comes after the release of his new single Pointless, co-written with Ed Sheeran, which is taken from his upcoming album Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, set for release in May.

His new album will follow a similar template to his debut, Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, which was the biggest-selling UK album of both 2019 and 2020.

Lewis Capaldi will perform tracks from his new album as well as previous hits including number one single Hold Me While You Wait and Before You Go.

The Glaswegian artist – a huge hit on social media thanks to his self-deprecating humour and honest story-telling – first emerged in 2017 with the record-breaking single Bruises.

It shot to 28 million plays worldwide, making him the fastest-ever unsigned artist to reach 25 million plays on the platform.

Since then, he’s been nominated for both Grammy and Ivor Novello awards, and sold out an arena tour before even releasing his debut album (another world record).

Lewis Capaldi will perform at Wythenshawe Park on Friday 25 August.

Pre-sale will go live on Thursday 19 January and general sale will go live on Friday 20 January. Tickets will be available from See Tickets, Gigs and Tours and Ticketmaster.
