The newest themed pop-up in a city that’s obsessed with Christmas is a space that celebrates all things The Grinch.
The beloved Dr Seuss character is the star of the show at Primark’s new opening at the Trafford Centre, joining successful The Grinch Cafe launches in Birmingham and Edinburgh.
Officially opening its doors today, the cafe – and its menu – have been lashed with green.
You can tuck in to limited-edition menu items like a green Grinchmas Shake with mint ice cream and in red sugar sprinkles.

The Whos within Whoville are honoured too with Cindy Lou Who Waffles, topped with meringue and red velvet cake pieces.
There are also warming hot drinks like orange and salted caramel hot chocolates.

The Grinch himself will be in store on 22 and 23 November to spread the exact opposite of festive cheer.
Primark has launched a whole range dedicated to the big green fella for Christmas, from matching family pyjamas and jumpers, cosy socks and slippers, and a baby sleepsuit.
The Grinch Snuddie has also made a return, along with other loungewear and festive jumpers.

And if you’re a really big fan of the hit Christmas film and children’s tale, you can kit out your house with cushions, throws and pet costumes.
Primark’s director of new business development Tim Kelly said: “We’ve been very pleased with our customers’ reaction to the Grinch cafes in Edinburgh and Birmingham.
“We can’t wait for our Manchester shoppers to try out our exclusive range of Grinchmas shakes and waffles, whilst shopping all things Primark.”
The Grinch Cafe will remain open inside Trafford Palazzo‘s Primark until 29 December.
Manchester ranked among the worst UK cities for throwing away food at Christmas

A new survey has ranked Manchester among the worst cities in the UK when it comes to throwing away leftover food at Christmas.
If there’s one thing we know for certain, it’s that a lot of food gets consumed during Christmas time, but unfortunately, what then comes along with that, is a lot of food getting thrown away too – with a new study revealing that British families are expected to bin nearly £300 million worth of festive food this year alone.
And sadly, Manchester has been named one of the top festive food waste hotspots.
Ahead of the festive season, leading electricals retailer, AO.com, is on a mission to help Brits cut back on their food waste, as 54% of Mancs have admitted to chucking out leftovers.
The survey found that, on average, a British family spends £136 on their Christmas food shopping, but 11% of that goes to waste.
This equates to a whopping £292,822,360 in Christmas food waste in total this year.
With almost 78% of survey respondents saying they would prefer to have their meals at home during the Christmas period, rather than dining out, the research uncovered that a quarter of Brits often throw away their Brussels sprouts, while one in 10 even admitted to binning everyone’s festive favourite, pigs in blankets.

Other northern cities ranking alongside Manchester in the not-so-coveted list of highest festive food waste offenders include Newcastle and Sheffield.
The capitals of London, Edinburgh, and Belfast also feature.
The news that Manchester has been named a festive food waste capital comes after a shocking study, also by AO, revealed back in August that Mancs throw away more than £1,000 of ‘freezable’ food every year too.

Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Aldi, and M&S are among the supermarkets to adjust opening hours at stores across the UK during the festive period.
As Christmas is fast approaching, most of us will have already started to stock up on food and drink for the big day ahead of time, but with so much to prepare for, it’s pretty easy to forget something important – which tends to leave us running to the shops before 25th.
While some have probably opted for home deliveries or Click & Collect services, others still prefer to shop in store.
To help you make sure everything is sorted, we’ve pulled together a list of all the major supermarket opening hours over the festive period, so grab your bags for life and get your shopping list at the ready, because Santa is on his way and he’ll be expecting his annual dose of mince pies.

Just like many other retailers on this list, Co-op’s opening times vary from store to store over the festive period, but the retailer has confirmed it will be operating reduced hours on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day – with all branches closed on Christmas Day across the UK as a standard.
