The time has come again for Manchester’s restaurants and bars to slash their prices, enticing customers to keep eating and drinking out with great January offers.

In our home city, that will mean hundreds of places to visit for half-price scran, added freebies, or two-for-one offers. There are loads of January offers beyond Manchester city centre too, as our suburban gems get in on the action.

So whether you’re looking for a date night for less, an affordable family dinner, or a cheap eat after work with your mates, we’ve got you covered.

1. The Counter House – Cutting Room Square

What is it: A cosy neighbourhood restaurant offering all-day dining, brunches and great cocktails.

The offer: 30% off all bills in January from Monday to Friday for tables of up to six when you book in advance using the code JAN OFFER.

2. The Jane Eyre – Cutting Room Square

What is it: A much-loved local bar and small plates restaurant with a gorgeous interior and genuinely lovely staff.

The offer: 25% off all food every Tuesday to Friday throughout January at one of Manchester’s best restaurants. What’s not to like?

3. Canto – Cutting Room Square

What is it: A tapas restaurant that takes its inspiration from Portugal and the wider Mediterranean, from the same team behind El Gato Negro.

The offer: Three small plates for £18, every day. Or three vegan small plates for £15, available all day Sunday to Thursday, 12pm to 5pm Fridays, and 12pm to 4pm Saturdays.

4. Elnecot – Cutting Room Square

What is it: An excellent restaurant and bar and a long-standing favourite for Ancoats, with one of the best Sunday roasts in the city.

The offer: 30% off food, Monday to Saturday – use code JANUARY 30% when booking.

5. Ramona/The Firehouse – Swan Street

What is it: The home of Detroit-style pizza, margaritas and multiple outdoor terraces, as well as Firehouse’s ‘slow fire’ kitchen, Sunday roasts and ‘wild spirits’ bar. Always busy, always a good time.

The offer: Marguary is back at Ramona; Margherita pizza slices for just £1.23 and classic or frozen Margarita cocktails for £6, but you must book your table ahead of time and its only available Wednesday to Friday from 3-7pm. You can get £6 cocktails all day long on Wednesdays though. As for Firehouse, they’re offering 50% off food every on the same days — again, must book ahead.

Northern Quarter

6. Yard and Coop – Edge Street

What is it: One of Manchester’s most iconic and beloved chicken shops where you can build your own meals at affordable prices, kids eat free and portions are always healthy.

The offer: 25% off everything from 2-5 Jan, a free pint with every meal from 8-12 Jan; free wings (15-19 Jan), free dessert (22-26 Jan) and 25% off for industry staff every Sunday from 7pm onwards. Make sure to download your free ‘Yard Card’ to be eligible for everything.

7. Nell’s – Edge Street and Kampus

What is it: Gigantic New York-style pizzas, served whole or by the slice, with two sites in the city centre (one is at Common, one is at Kampus).

The offer: 50% off full-sized pizza all day, every day, Sunday to Thursday throughout January. Bookings only.

8. Birria Brothers Tacos – Oldham Street

What is it: Formerly a kitchen takeover at Koffee Pot that had queues all the way down Oldham Street, now a permanent fixture next door, serving tacos stuffed with slow-cooked meat with dipping broths on the side.

The offer: 25% off all food Monday to Thursday throughout January (walk-ins only).

9. Smithfield Social – Thomas Street

What is it: An all-day bar and restaurant that’s become a Northern Quarter favourite, tucked in on Thomas Street in the heart of the neighbourhood.

The offer: 50% off main menu items, Monday to Friday, 12pm-9pm.

10. Purezza – High Street

What is it: Plant-based pizza at its best with vegan tapas and small plates, all 100% gluten-free, as well as a ‘hidden’ cocktail bar, Parla, situated underneath so you can spend all night in there.

The offer: 50% off all pizzas before 5pm, Monday to Friday all throughout January and the deal now even includes full-size pizza options.

11. Stray – Mackie Mayor

What is it: A beautiful new cocktail bar tucked into a corner of the equally beautiful Mackie Mayor, with homemade ingredients and top-notch service.

The offer: £8 cocktails from Stray’s January menu, available Sunday to Thursday.

12. Evelyn’s – Tib Street

What is it: A much-loved neighbourhood restaurant filled with bare brick walls, plants and candlelight, serving British ingredients.

The offer: 30% off the evening menu, Monday to Thursday from 5pm (starting 2 January).

13. Public – Stevenson Square

What is it: One of the city’s coolest new bars, where you can get pots of noodles, incredible chicken burgers, and great cocktails under one roof.

The offer: 50% off food, including burgers, noodles and sandos, all day Monday to Thursday.

14. Lust, Luck, Liquor and Burn – Edge Street

What is it: A cult favourite North American road trip-inspired restaurant and bar serving food including tacos, burritos, burgers, cocktails and more.

15. Lost Cat – Oldham Street

What is it: A much-loved neighbourhood bar serving delicious cocktails and sandwiches before turning into a buzzing late-night venue across two storeys. Home to a great dance floor upstairs.

The offer: 2-4-1 on cocktails all throughout January.

16. Kong’s Kitchens – Oldham Street

What is it: Manc favourite fried chicken gaff that popped up in the likes of Dog Bowl before taking over the old Cocktail Beer Ramen + Bun site, known for its bottomless wings and tacos, fried chicken sandwiches and more.

The offer: 50% off food on Mondays and Thursdays all throughout January when you quote FIFTYFOOD at booking. You need to reserve your table at least 24 hours in advance to get the discount and must email [email protected] for parties of five and over.

17. Chakalaka – Oldham Street

What is it: NQ’s iconic South African bar and kitchen, renowned for its authentic food and legendary happy hour.

The offer: 50% off all mains and happy hour from open until close, Sunday to Thursday all of January.

18. Almost Famous – Edge Street and Great Northern

What is it: Manchester’s original burger joint, famed for its giant towers of perfectly cooked beef patties and loaded fries.

The offer: 50% all burgers, Monday to Friday and Sunday, from 2 January.

19. Tariff & Dale – Tariff Street

What is it: A long-standing legend in the Northern Quarter, Tariff & Dale is all about cocktails, beer, sourdough pizza and refined pub food.

20. Trof – Thomas Street

What is it: An institution, is what it is – famed for its Sunday roasts and brunches but also for its small plates and cocktails.

The offer: 50% off food in January from Tuesday to Friday only.

21. Siop Shop, Tib Street

What is it: A Welsh cafe that serves the best doughnuts in town (sorry, Gooey) alongside Welsh breakfasts and excellent coffees.

The offer: The Joe Dough deal gets you a coffee and doughnut for £5.50 all day, Monday to Thursday.

Central Manchester

22. Bundobust – Piccadilly and Oxford Road

What is it: One of Greater Manchester’s best Indian street food and veggie spots full stop, boasting a brilliant beer hall on Oxford Road and one the cosiest spots you’ll find anywhere on the busy streets around Piccadilly.

The offer: The brand new ‘Bundobutties’ menu launches on 4 January and runs all the way up to 11 February. Available from 12-4pm, two new vegan sandwiches, the Vegan Vada Pav and Bhaji Butty, have been added to the weekday lunchtime deals. Choose any butty, side and soft drink for £9.95 or upgrade to a pint of Python Premium Lager for £12.95.

23. Riva Blu – Corn Exchange

What is it: Italian fine dining spot located in the historic Corn Exchange, formerly known as Gino D’Acampo restaurants, still serving up the same satisfying grub.

The offer: 50% off any dish on the à la carte menu every Monday to Thursday, when you are a member of Club IR (Individual Restaurants).

24. Maray – Lincoln Square

What is it: The first site in Manchester for Liverpool’s much-loved Middle Eastern restaurant, serving loads of small plates and sharers.

The offer: 50% off vegetarian and vegan dishes, Monday to Thursday, for all bookings for up to seven people.

25. New Century – Hanover Street

What is it: A recently-reborn 60s music hall, with a large street food kitchen on the ground floor lined by brilliant local traders like Ply, Banh Vi and the Hip Hop Chip Shop.

The offer: ‘Dry Scranuary’ means a free non-alcoholic drink when you order food, or an alcoholic house drink for just £1.50.

New Century isn’t the only place giving Mancs a Dry January incentive.

26. The Allotment Vegan Eatery – Cathedral Gates

What is it: Simply one of the best plant-based spots anywhere in Greater Manchester and ranked the 28th best vegan restaurant in the world. No joke.

The offer: 20% off all food throughout January. Simple.

27. Ducie St Warehouse – Ducie Street

What is it: Laid-back bar, restaurant, terrace, lounge, cinema and more located inside the Native Hotel just round the corner from Piccadilly Station.

The offer: 50% off all food between 5-9pm, Monday to Thursday from 2-31 January.

28. Madre – Kampus

What is it: A beautiful newcomer to Manchester serving authentic tacos, margaritas, and other Mexican dishes, in a stunning space at the Kampus neighbourhood.

The offer: 50% off tacos, Monday to Thursday – book HERE or walk in.

29. The Beeswing – Kampus

What is it: A first-floor wine bar and kitchen elevated just above the city centre’s coolest garden district. Specialises in seasonal sharing dishes and small plates till late.

The offer: From 12-31 January, Beeswing has teamed up with tapas bar Levanter to offer 50% off all food on their new Spanish-influenced concept menu.

30. Bondi Bowls – Kampus

What is it: A fellow neighbour of Beeswing specialising in fast, healthy Aussie-inspired soups, salads, smoothies and all-round wholesome food.

The offer: 50% off a different menu item for every day of the week in Jan; Monday – 50% off Korean Bowls, Tuesday – Protein Balls, Wednesday – Caesar Bowls; Thursday – Acai Bowl, Friday – Kombucha and half-price Brunch Bowls on Saturday.

31. El Gato Negro – King Street

What is it: Widely accepted to be one of Manchester’s best restaurants, serving excellent Spanish tapas in a gorgeous three-storey converted townhouse.

The offer: Three small plates for £18, every day. Or three vegan small plates for £15, available all day Sunday to Thursday, 12-5pm Fridays, and 12-4pm Saturdays.

32. Sonata – St Ann’s Alley

What is it: One of Manchester’s best piano and cabaret lounges, with service and drinks as good as the entertainment.

The offer: 25% off all drinks – all night, every night + it might be £5 on Fridays and Saturdays but its free entry every other night this month.

33. Printworks – Withy Grove

What is it: A city centre hub of bars and restaurants, including Wagamama, Chiquito, O’Neills and more.

The offer: ‘Double your money’ deal on the Printworks app, with 50% off rewards. Download it HERE.

34. Three Little Words – Watson Street

What is it: A cosy specialist gin bar and restaurant tucked underneath the old archways of Watson Street and home to the world-class The Spirit of Manchester Distillery.

The offer: 50% off food, spirit mixers and selected cocktails from 5pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 12-7pm on Fridays.

35. King Street Townhouse – King Street

What is it: A highly-regarded boutique hotel in Manchester with a friendly dining space and bar on the ground floor.

The offer: 25% off the lunch menu, plus afternoon tea for two for only £45. Book HERE.

36. Manchester Wine Tours – various locations

What is it: Think a pub crawl, but celebrating wine, and with a lot more education involved than your average stagger between pubs. Each ticket includes six wines and four snacks.

The offer: 15% off all Manchester Wine Tours in January and February 2024 when you use the code BLUENUNDAY at checkout.

37. WOOD – First Street

What is it: A high-end British restaurant created by former MasterChef champion Simon Wood.

The offer: Three plates and a glass of wine for £25, booking advised. Gourmet food at this kind of price makes it undoubtedly one of the best deals in Manchester this January.

38. House of Fu – Portland Street

What is it: One of Manchester’s newest and best ramen spots, fresh from its cult-favourite OG venue in Leeds, serving up seriously slurpy noodles, creamy broths, big ol’ rice bowls, plenty of sides, cocktails and a little bit of karaoke downstairs if you fancy a sing-song afterwards.

The offer: Ramen and rice bowls for just a tenner (not including the super bowls) as part of the ‘Express Lunch’ from 11:30am to 3pm, as well as 50% of karaoke booth bookings throughout January. Glorious.

39. Kala – King Street

What is it: One of Gary Usher’s legendary Elite Bistros restaurants, where you’ll find ‘fancy but relaxed’ fare.

The offer: Two courses for £15 at lunchtime, bookings encouraged.

40. Creams Cafe – Arndale and Cheetham Hill Shopping Centre

What is it: Popular UK chain serving up delicious sundaes, waffles, milkshakes and all manner of other desserts.

The offer: Launching a brand-new value ‘Soft Swirl Sundae’ range for just £3.45 each starting from Tuesday, 2 January, available for sit-in or takeaway.

41. New Wave Ramen – Tib Lane

What is it: A strong contender for the best ramen in Manchester, which started life in Mackie Mayor before branching out with its own restaurant last year.

The offer: £10 ramen bowls in January, Tuesday to Friday, between 12pm and 3pm.

42. Tampopo – Albert Square and Corn Exchange

What is it: A long-standing favourite in Manchester, which brought Pan-Asian street food to the city way ahead of its time.

The offer: 30% off mains throughout January, plus a 2 for £14 happy hour. Just show this social post or ask staff to claim the discount.

43. Blinker – Spring Gardens

What is it: A gorgeous bar was opened in May by ex-Gordon Ramsay bars boss Dan Berger, with an entire menu of martinis — plus one full of old fashioneds — while the rest of the cocktail offering changes seasonally to champion local ingredients.

The offer: Selected Rye Cocktails for just £7 (including New York Sour, Remember the Main and Mint Julep), plus 25% off all neat whisky all month.

Spinningfields and Deansgate

44. 20 Stories – Hardman Street

What is it: One of Manchester’s most well-known restaurants, thanks to its incredible views from the top of a skyscraper. It also has a large roof terrace popular for cocktails.

The offer: A complimentary bottle of champagne when you spend £100 during January. 

45. Tattu – Hardman Square

What is it: Award-winning Chinese restaurant in Spinningfields, known for its ‘Moon Stand Lunches’, stylish and contemporary fusion cuisine expertly presented.

The offer: 30% off food from 2 January onwards when using the code TATTU30 when booking.

46. The Blues Kitchen – Quay Street

What is it: It’s an all-American experience here, taking its inspiration from the Deep South, from bourbon to blues music to its menu full of wings and burgers.

The offer: 50% off mains, BBQ and burgers every Sunday to Thursday from 4pm onwards.

47. SakkuSamba – Hardman Square

What is it: A Brazilian-Japanese fusion of steak, sushi, and high-end cocktails, perfect for a posh night or bottomless brunch, as well as a relaxed lounge bar downstairs for more chill evenings.

The offer: 30% off the unlimited menu when you reserve for lunch or dinner from Sunday to Thursday until 31 January.

48. Suki Suki – Deansgate

What is it: Vibrant street-style pan-Asian food including ramen, bao, curries and small plates, served in a restaurant with a mezzanine seating area.

The offer: Express lunch deal with selected ramen and rice bowl for £10. Add gyozas and a soft drink for £4.95. Monday to Friday, 12pm to 3pm.

49. Hawksmoor – Deansgate

What is it: Consistently voted one of Manchester’s best restaurants, this beautiful steak spot is also home to an incredible bar area.

The offer: A lean rump steak with a side (choose from English lettuce salad, sweet potatoes, spinach, beef dripping chips, or Caesar salad) for £19.50. Available 3 to 31 January, Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 5pm.

50. iKaro – John Dalton Street

What is it: One of the city’s newest additions, promising a cosmopolitan seafood, grill and champagne bar experience in a stylish venue.

The offer: 25% off all advance bookings throughout January. As always, T&Cs apply.

51. Italiana 55 – Great Northern

What is it: An authentic Italian restaurant that’s a firm family favourite, with pizza, pasta, meat dishes and more. There are also sites on Liverpool Road and in Didsbury.

The offer: 50% off in January.

52. The Lawn Club – Hardman Square

What is it: Famed for having loads of outside space in the summer and a cosy tipi in the winter, plus cocktails and a varied, crowd-pleasing menu.

The offer: 50% off food throughout January 2024.

53. MUSU – Bridge Street

What is it: A high-end sushi and Japanese restaurant in a staggeringly modern setting, and already considered one of Manchester’s best restaurants.

The offer: 30% off food on all menus when you book a table in advance using code MANC30.

54. Peaky Blinders – Peter Street

What is it: A lively bar and restaurant themed on the hit BBC drama, with plenty of speakeasy vibes.

The offer: 50% off throughout January.

55. Podium at Hilton Manchester Deansgate – Deansgate

What is it: The ground floor restaurant in Manchester’s most iconic hotel, based at the foot of Beetham Tower.

The offer: Two courses for £25, Tuesday to Saturday.

56. The Wharf – Castlefield

What is it: A canal-side pub serving proper British classics, with a huge terrace, tipi and cocktail hut.

Oxford Road Corridor

57. Bird of Prey – Charles Street

What is it: Probably one of Manchester’s very best fried chicken spots, with a menu packed with burgers, wings, sides and shakes, and sauces from Buffalo to Korean BBQ.

The deal: 50% off every Monday to help beat the ‘Blue Mondays’ of January.

58. YES – Charles Street

What is it: A four-storey venue offering everything from fresh pizza and gyros to cocktails and all the booze you could think of, as well as live music and a rooftop terrace. A great student spot too.

The offer: Half-price their resident Pepperoni Playboy slices all day, every day; two fancy drinks for a tenner too, as well as 50% off their in-house Greek vendor We Can Be Gyros on Sundays.

59. Mughli – Wilmslow Road

What is it: One of Manchester’s best-loved, family-run curry houses, and a long-standing staple on the Curry Mile.

The deal: 30% off Karis, including Mughli’s famous Butter Chicken, when you book in advance HERE. Tables up to six.

60. Zouk – Chester Street

What is it: An authentic curry house, grill and tea bar, drawing in huge crowds constantly with its menu of warming Indian and Pakistani food. Oh also, Drake’s a big fan.

The offer: Bottomless curry for £20, with one lamb, chicken, veggie and vegan option, plus bhajis, rice and naan.

61. Peru Perdu – Princess Steet

What is it: A Peruvian restaurant with a baby pink decor, tucked into a corner unit in the same building as the Whitworth Locke Hotel.

The deal: 50% off food. Easy as.

62. Canvas – Circle Square

What is it: A bar, kitchen, live music and entertainment venue, serving tasty lunches, bottomless brunches and all things steak — specialising in bavettes, specifically.

The deal: 25% discount on everyone’s food when they book a table online from Sunday to Thursday and you can even win 100% off your bill if you’re lucky.

Chorlton

63. Parmogeddon – Beech Road

What is it: a Manc favourite serving up the Middleborough and Teeside staple: parmos, a.k.a. fried chicken slathered in bechamel sauce and layers of cheese, often served on bread with some fries to boot. Now serving full-time out of Elektrik Bar over in Chorlton.

The offer: 25% off the entire menu from Sunday to Thursday throughout January.

64. The Lead Station – Beech Road

What is it: A former police station turned into a bar, serving up a varied menu to Chorlton locals since 1995.

The offer: 50% off food between 4:30pm and 7pm, Monday to Friday, throughout January. Wine Wednesdays (half-price bottles from 5pm) also running. T&Cs apply.

65. The Drop Cafe – Barlow Moor Road

What is it: Vibrant West Indian and Caribbean food, including its legendary ‘hench boxes’ (which are massive).

The offer: 50% off the full food bill, except Fridays and Saturdays after 6:30pm and Sundays between 2pm and 6pm, booking advised.

66. Sanskruti – Withington

What is it: For our money, one of the best vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Greater Manchester, serving up immense Indian street food.

The offer: 25% off all food exclusively when booking online and when adding the comment ‘Veganuary’. Only valid on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday with only the thali sharers excluded. Available for up to six adults per table.

Didsbury

67. Hispi – School Lane

What is it: Another branch of the Elite Bistros restaurant group owned by chef Gary Usher, and a lesson in what a good neighbourhood restaurant should look like.

The offer: Two-course lunch for £15 — simple as and given the quality of the food, probably one of the best offers you’ll find anywhere in Greater Manchester this January.

Stockport

68. Piccolino – Bramhall, Didsbury, Hale, Knutsford, Manchester (central)

50% off any dish off the à la carte menu every Monday to Thursday but, once again, you must sign up to be a Club IR (Individual Restaurants) member — luckily there are plenty of food spots that fall under the group here in Manchester and it’s free to join.

Salford

69. The Black Friar – Blackfriars Road

What is it: A historic pub completely refurbished a couple of years ago, now a fantastic gastropub with cosy interiors and a menu of British classics.

The offer: Its ‘Pie Festival’ is back, with £10 pies all day every Monday and until 6pm Tuesday to Friday.

70. The Alchemist – Salford Quays, New York Street and Spinningfields

What is it: A popular chain of creative alchemy-themed cocktail bars known for their pageantry when it comes to pouring and bottomless brunches.

The offer: 40% off your food bill throughout the entire month, meaning more money to spend on cocktails. Mint.

71. Firefly – One New Bailey

What is it: A slice of Spinningfields spilled over the bridge and into Salford’s New Bailey business park, promising free-spirited and social dining. Brunch, cocktails, sushi and more.

The offer: 50% off all food throughout January when you book with the code JAN50.

72. SE7EN BRO7HERS – MediaCity, Middlewood Locks and Ancoats

What is it: Manc favourite brewing company and bar

The offer: 20% off all booze all week long throughout January. Say no more.

73. 11 Central – Central Bay

What is it: The main bar and restaurant attached to Salford Quays’ bustling new leisure and hospitality attraction, Central Bay.

The offer: 50% off the breakfast and bar menu as well as 2-4-1 drinks on the signature cocktails from Monday to Friday, but it doesn’t stop there either, as they also have £10 Sunday roasts and a discounted a la carte menu all throughout the month.

Bolton

74. Ewe Restuarant & Bar – Chorley Road

What is it: A local favourite bistro in Westhoughton that does British pub classics with global-inspired. If you know, you know.

The offer: 30% off food from 2-31 January, Monday to Friday (all day Monday-Thursday, 12-5pm on Fridays). Must book in advance using code EWE30 — cannot be used with any other deals, T&Cs apply and some items are excluded: all lunch plates, beef/beetroot Wellington, lamb shank, chateaubriand and fillet steak.

Wigan

75. Little Fifteen – Wallgate

What is it: A quirky and stylish twist on traditional cosy pub vibes serving up pizza, paninis and plenty of other kid-friendly Italian staples.

The offer: Their annual ‘Dough Deals’ are back — any pizza with a bottle of beer, glass of wine or soft drink for just £6.95. 12-4pm every Monday to Friday throughout Jan.
