Albert’s Schloss has just introduced a new breakfast menu packed with Alpine delights.
Manchester’s Bohemian bier palace, cook haus and bakery has just rolled out a host of new dishes perfect for the upcoming cold season, so naturally we had to go down and give it a try.
Think stacked Schloss breakfast poppy bagels filled with your choice of Yorkshire streaky bacon, round bratwurst, haus chilli jam and gouda, coriander and pink pickled onions, soft chive omelette, slow roasted portobello mushrooms and smashed avocado (£7.95).
Elsewhere, you’ll find more haus-baked bagels filled with smoked salmon, chive cream cheese and poached Burford Brown eggs, alongside British breakfast staples like the full English, eggs benedict and avocado and eggs.

We went for the regular fry-up and a meaty breakfast bagel, washed down with a few ‘liveners’ which more than did the required job of bringing us back to life after a long, mournful weekend.
Opting for an espresso martini and a relatively fiery Bloody Mary (well, a Red Snapper, as we switched out the vodka for gin), we got stuck in to our platefuls of chunky sausage, crispy bacon bits and stacks of lightly charred toast.
Overall, the size of the Catherine wheel sausage left us a little disappointed (it was, as you can see, really more of a squiggle) but it’s fair to say that the rest of the plate more than made up for it.
A pot of beans, rich, gooey fried eggs and a hearty helping of crispy Yorkshire streaky bacon was a warm hug on a cold September morning, whilst a poppy seed bagel spilling over with colour and freshness did wonders to lift our spirits.
Whilst there’s not much here for vegans, vegetarians are well catered for with dishes like goats cheese and courgette fritters with Burford brown eggs, frankfurt sauce and spicy devilled tomatoes, and Turkish eggs with garlic yoghurt, poached Burford brown eggs, herbs, chilli butter, crispy onions and sourdough toast.
There’s also a veggie Cook Haus breakfast with Moving Mountains sausage, smashed avocado, Burford brown egg, roasted portobello mushroom, baked beans, hash brown, roast tomato and Pain de Mie toast, and a sweet veggie pancake stack with vanilla, berries, maple syrup and cream.
Served from Monday to Friday from 10am-1pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 9am-1pm, walk-ins are welcome but advance bookings are advised to avoid disappointment.

Stereophonics have announced another UK tour this winter, including a massive Manchester gig

British rock legends aren’t waiting around for long as after wrapping their most recent raft of shows, Stereophonics are getting straight back on the road at the end of the year for a UK winter tour, with big gigs in Manchester, London, Glasgow and more.
With tours in Australia and the US also coming in the interim, not to mention having just played multiple festivals right off the back of their own springtime shows, they’ve got to be one of the busiest and hardest-working bands around right now.
The legendary Welsh group released their new album, Make ‘Em Laugh, Make ‘Em Cry, Make ‘Em Wait – which happens to be their 13 studio LP to date – back in April, and haven’t wasted any time in touring it, nor the all-time classics that have made them such a much-loved named here in the UK.
Now, though, fresh off a huge sell-out crowd at Finsbury Park down in the capital, lads are gearing up for more domestic shows,

Their latest record went to number one back in May, which is then the ninth time they’ve achieved the feat, and the Cynon Valley veterans seem to show absolutely no signs of slowing down whatsoever.

Other shows here in the North of England include South Yorkshire’s Utilta Arena (our friends over at The Sheff will be buzzing with that one), as well as a Liverpool date at the M&S Bank Arena.
Earlier this month, the band also played another showstopping headline set at this year’s Isle of Wight festival, with music outlet Rolling StoneUK dubbing the band’s set as “the highlight of the night” that “upheld every expectation” for 55,000 festival goers.
It was much the same story at Finsbury this past weekend, too, which has already seen the likes of Fontaines D.C., Slayer, and soon Drake arrive for Wireless Fest 2025.
Making their Co-op Live debut when they arrive in Manchester this winter, Stereophonics are to play the world-leading arena on 12 December.
Official Co-op members get the first lot of early access via the venue’s presale window, which opens from 9:30am on Wednesday, 9 July, but general admission tickets will be available from the same time on the following Friday (11 July).
Streamer AngryGinge ‘arrested and banned’ from Silvestone at the British GP

Popular Manc influencer, ‘AngryGinge’, was arrested, fined and ultimately banned from Silverstone at this year’s British GP.
The Salford-born Twitch streamer, YouTuber and social media personality (real name Morgan Burtwhistle) was detained at the circuit after being arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.
Ginge recently starred in Soccer Aid 2025 and is a well-known face both on the internet and in the sporting world, regularly working in and around football, and is an avid Manchester United – even featuring in the club’s third kit launch video last year.
The 23-year-old and two other fellow streamers, ‘Chazza’ and ‘Samham’, were accused of criminal damage after sitting in an F1 car whilst recording around the Silverstone complex.

“On Friday, July 4, NP received a report that a classic Formula 1 car on display at Silverstone Circuit during the British Grand Prix event had sustained several thousands of pounds worth of damage, which was alleged to have been caused by someone accessing the display stand and climbing into the vehicle.
“Officers carried out initial inquiries, and suspects were identified. Three men, aged 23, 25 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage to a vehicle and taken into police custody.
“Following a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the incident, all three men were released with no further action.”
Burtwhistle went into more detail on the incident on socials, explaining that the trio were taken away in handcuffs and “locked up” for several hours – 15 hours, according to SamHam (Samuel Imie).
All three individuals deny causing any damage to the racecar, even despite users sharing clips from the livestream footage captured for the Red Bull online Content on the day that many argue incriminates them, or at least sounds like it – we’ll let you watch and decide for yourselves.
Ginge himself went on to detail that ridculousness of the situation, explaining how he was effectively detained for watching someone else climb into the vehicle.
He’ll be dining out in this one for some time, you can be sure of that.
