A topless blacklight paint rave is coming to a Manchester nightclub this monthas the city gears up to welcome a night full of silliness and hedonistic anti-patriarchal partying.
Feminist, inclusive club night Party In Your Pants is coming to The Bread Shed on Friday 22 September, promising five hours of non-stop body doodling and shape throwing.
Soundtracked by banging beats, the rebellious paint rave seeks to #freethenipple with guests encouraged to get as naked as they like with a free all-night cloakroom multi-pass included in their ticket.
Ticket prices also include all the paints, pens and powders you could possibly desire to doodle on yourself (and others, consensually) until your heart’s content.
Inside the party, there is a ‘Splat-Attack Tunnel’, where revellers can get shot at with paint guns for a kaleidoscopic painting effect, and there’ll also be holi powder, fancy dress, silly games, and a giant ball pool to frolic about in.
Organisers, however, are keen to stress that whilst the party welcomes topless guests it is not a sex party.

Stressing that the event is about ‘desexualised nudity’, they say that ‘if you can’t understand the concept’ then ‘this is not the place for you’.
The event page reads: “This is an event for the enlightened. If you can’t understand the concept of desexualised nudity, this is not the place for you. WE ARE NOT A SEX PARTY. (We can’t help it if we’re sexy, though – liberated humans just are!)
“For every feminist, whatever your gender, come and experience your equality and your liberty the Doodlecats way.”
You may have heard of the funny Star Wars stripper show or even seen clips of it online, but rumour has it that nothing can quite prepare you for the cheekiness of seeing this romp in the flesh.
In case you’ve been completely immersed in the dark side until now, here’s what you can expect:
Now well over a decade into its success and more than 200 Las Vegas shows, ‘The Empire Strips Back’ made its long-awaited transatlantic debut earlier this year.
Getting away at London’s Riverside Studios from May and enjoying a run until this past August, the comedy-driven twist on the classic Star Wars stories and beloved sci-fi characters was an instant hit with us Brits.
It started in Australia way back in 2011 and has gone not only to tour across Europe, but land a coveted residency at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Nevada.
Fast, funny, feisty and by all accounts, fantastic.
Now set to seek out new padawans and storm-strippers all over the cosmos, and by that we mean the UK, ‘The Empire Strips Back: Burlesque Parody’ is coming to Manchester.
Set to land at Depot Mayfield in the New Year – next spring, specifically, we cannot wait to see how this goes down with Northern crowds.
The Manc leg is scheduled to kick off on 6 March and last until 8 May, 2026, with various dates and times of day available.
It’s also worth noting that this two-hour show, including intermission, is a strictly 18+ only event; if you’re interested, you can find out more info and grab your tickets right HERE.

Sankeys has given Mancs a glimpse inside its new venue as the legendary nightclub gears up for its return.
The club was one of Manchester’s top nightlife spots for years, before shutting down seemingly for good almost a decade ago.
Set within Beehive Mill in Ancoats, Sankeys was a true icon of Manchester’s global nightlife scene.
And while the old Sankeys Soap nightlife space is now full of co-working spaces, the spirit of Sankeys is about to be reborn.
The exact location of the new club is still being kept under wraps ahead of its reopening at the end of January, but new renderings have been released to give us a glimpse of how it will look.
Sankeys is promising ‘A reimagined space. New energy. Same legendary nights’.
The new Sankeys Manchester will be a 500-capacity venue, designed to ‘capture the raw underground energy that made Sankeys one of the most iconic club brands in the world’.
It will feature an LED matrix grid installation that will immerse clubbers in ‘light, sound and atmosphere’.
Sankeys Manchester officially opens on 30 January – you can see a glimpse of how it will look below and grab tickets HERE.
