A man has been charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon after a reported stabbing in Piccadilly Gardens.
The incident at around 8pm on Monday 3 April saw officers scrambled to reports of a disturbance in the city centre square.
A cordon was put in place near Boots and a man rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 28-year-old man has now been charged.
In a statement, GMP said: “On Monday 3 April 2023 at around 8pm, officers were called to a report of a disturbance in Piccadilly Gardens.
“Officers arrived at the scene and a 26-year-old male was arrested.
“Mohamed Abdi (28/02/1997) of no fixed abode was charged with affray and possession of a bladed article.
“He will attend Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court court on Wednesday 5 April 2023.
