‘Show some f***ing respect’: Phil Neville blasts MLS reporter for interrupting him

That face though. This might be the coldest thing Phil Neville's ever done.

Phil Neville has gone viral after he told a reporter to “show some f***ing respect” after he interrupted him in his post-match press conference this weekend.

The younger Neville brother has been in charge of David Beckham‘s Major League Soccer team, Inter Miami, since January 2021, which is only the club’s third competitive season since it was founded and only his second full-time managerial role after he stepped down as head coach of the Lionesses.

Miami were on the end of a 3-1 defeat at home against Orlando City on Sunday and after a reporter covering the MLS match which leaves Phil Neville’s side 12th in the table asked him a question, he then went on to interrupt Neville mid-answer.

The former Manchester United man didn’t too kindly to that decision.

As you can see, the 46-year-old stopped the interviewer dead in his tracks by saying, “Can I finish speaking, or are you going to interrupt?”

Repeating himself once again, Neville doubled down: “Can I finish speaking, ok? Because I don’t interrupt your question so don’t interrupt mine. Show some f***ing respect.”

Taking a brief pause after losing his composure and undoubtedly catching a few media personnel off-guard, he then apologised for the language and had to ask, “Sorry, what was the question again?”

Maybe it’s because we’ve always seen Phil as the somewhat quieter and less outspoken of the Neville brothers, but it’s almost like we could feel the tension in the room watching that.

Despite having previously come under criticism following a run of six straight losses in 2021 and struggling to put together a real run of form during his tenure, Beckham is said to still be backing his mate Phil.

Both part of United’s Class of ’92, the two lifelong friends are also co-owners of Salford City, as is big brother Gary Neville despite stepping down as CEO.

However, with Becks obviously looking to secure a proper foothold in the league as one of its youngest franchises, it begs the question how long Neville will remain in post.
