Although there wasn’t a great deal of context provided, from what we can tell, this appears to be a classic case of a situation that the vast majority of us will remember from growing up – you’ve booted the ball a little too hard and it’s gone over the fence into your neighbour’s garden and got stuck in the bushes.
Whether you’ll ever get it back again though, now that’s a different story.
Some neighbours have virtually no issue when this happens and will often kick the ball back over the fence, or allow the kids to retrieve it for themselves, but with others, it’s quite the opposite and the kids are just better off buying another ball if they want the game to continue.

If they’re really lucky though, their neighbours might even give them a helping hand in finding the ball if it ever goes missing.
And that’s exactly the kind of neighbour these three siblings are “eternally grateful” to have.
After @dolly_sud helped her neighbour’s young children find their football that went missing in her garden the week prior, the siblings decided to show their appreciation by leaving some chocolate and a handwritten note on her doorstep as a surprise.
Presumably unsure of her name, the handwritten note was adorably addressed to “Miss Lady”.
The note read: “Dear Miss Lady, thank you so much for helping us find our football in your garden last week. We needed it for an essential football match and if we couldn’t carry on playing, it would have been a catastrophe.

“[We are] eternally grateful”.
The tweet already appears to be capturing the hearts of the nation and has gone on to amass over 75,000 likes and retweets, with hundreds of comments from members of the public touched by how thoughtful of the gesture is.
One Twitter user commented: “It makes me so sad hearing stories of grumpy ole people not giving children’s toys back or having a go at them when it ends up in their garden. Like worse things happen, accidents happen, and it’s really not a big deal – Lovely story”.
“Best thing I’ve seen today, this game was an emergency I tell ya Ms Lady.” said another.
Another added: “That made my heart melt, what lovely manners those kids have and their parents should be so proud of them”.
I love that you shall now and forever be known as "Miss Lady Finder Of Footballs" that is now the proud title you shall forever carry and be called 😂😂😂
As is usually expected with viral tweets of this nature, a few people in the comments have been quick to question whether the note is actually genuine or not, due to the neat handwriting and some of the vocabulary used, but we can only presume that it was written by a parent / guardian on behalf of the children instead, right?
Let’s just overlook that, shall we?
It’s always nice to hear of acts of kindness and appreciation, after all.
Yard Act announce handful of new headline shows ahead of 6Music gig in Manchester
Clementine Hall
Yard Act are back as they announce first round of UK headline dates since 2024, including a show right here in Manchester – but not before their BBC 6Music Festival gig later this week.
We are so, SO back.
It’s been a few years, but Yard Act have just announced a limited run of domestic shows for later in the year including their homecoming gig at the O2 Academy in Leeds on Friday, 6 November.
But after playing over in Yorkshire, the lads will be performing shows at the O2 Victoria Warehouse on the following Friday (13 Nov).
Yard Act completed the touring for their critically acclaimed second album, Where’s My Utopia?, with a victory lap back home at the 5000 capacity Millennium Square in Leeds in August ’24.
It was a record that brought a stark change of pace to the acerbic, post-punk of their debut, embracing something altogether more playful and bringing a different energy.
It shifted the dynamic on stage too, with the addition of dancing backing singers and additional musicians and openly challenged listeners to reconsider who they thought Yard Act were.
Since then, the band have been keeping busy writing and recording their third studio LP, as well as heading out across the UK and Europe with The Hives – oh, and that intimate one-off show at Blackpool Tower last May.
Following a lengthy stint in the studio, the band now look to this coming autumn for three big UK dates and we cannot wait. We spoke to them a little while back and know how much big stuff they’ve got further pipeline; you can see the interview HERE.
Booking just three headline slots, the handful of tour dates are as follows:
06 Nov – Leeds
13 Nov – Manchester
26 Nov – London
Tickets go on artist presale from 10am on Wednesday, 25 March before hitting general sale at 10am on Friday, 27 March. Sign up to grab yours right HERE.
As for those wanting to find out more about this year’s 6Music Fest, you find the full lineup and more down below.
Jadon Sancho looks set to leave Manchester United for good – and he could be heading back ‘home’
Danny Jones
Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho looks all set to leave the club permanently this summer, and as per the latest reports, his next destination could be back at one of his previous ones: Borussia Dortmund.
Having become somewhat of a forgotten man after being loaned out to three different places since being effectively exiled from the first team under Erik ten Hag’s tenure, Jadon Sancho’s career hasn’t exactly progressed as many thought it would.
Enjoying loan spells not only back at Dortmund for the latter half of the 2023/24 season and even playing in a Champions League final, before then being loaned to Chelsea – winning the UEFA Conference League trophy – and then spending this campaign with Aston Villa, he’s been all over, even at 25.
Given his Southern roots prior to eventually coming through Man City’s youth academy, it was thought that he might stay down in London at one point; however, it now seems increasingly possible that he could return to Germany, where his breakthrough began.
Borussia Dortmund are interested in re-signing Jadon Sancho.
Sancho, who is currently on-loan at Aston Villa from Manchester United, will be out of contract in June, having moved to Old Trafford from Dortmund for €85million (£73m; $97.9m at current rates) in July 2021.… pic.twitter.com/TKjirKUW2W

While Man United do technically have the option to extend his stay, and the England international hasn’t experienced life under Michael Carrick, the feeling is that it is unlikely this will be the outcome.
It seems especially improbable given that it still remains to be seen who the permanent manager at the Theatre of Dream will be, as there is no guarantee he would form part of their plans moving forward.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has since corroborated the already ‘tier one’ outlet, clarifying that the decision for Sancho to leave United was made “months ago” and adding that the Bundesliga side is “keen” if all the personal terms can be ironed out.
Despite not having played for the red half of Manchester since 16 August 2023, there are some among the fan base who would like to see a universe where he gets a second chance at Old Trafford – then again, there are also plenty in the Midlands who would like to see him stay in Birmingham, too.
Steadily regaining some form, he also grabbed a key assist in the Villains’ recent 2-0 win over West Ham.
As always with marquee signings, even if things haven’t quite worked out, part of the obstacle will obviously be finding a suitor willing to pay his wages and/or the talent’s willingness to maybe take a pay cut, with Sancho said to be on one of the highest salaries not just at MUFC but in the English top flight.
Either way, he is currently due to leave as a free agent this coming summer transfer window, and the chances are he won’t staying on their books much longer.
Meanwhile, in transfer news in and around Greater Manchester, one fellow Premier League star has not only been heavily linked with a move to swap one United for another, but apparently he’s been ‘personally recommended’ as a potential successor by one current player.
