Sir David Attenborough is teaching Geography lessons on BBC Bitesize this week
Sir David will be encouraging students to take a look at the world around them.

Primary school children from across the country will have the opportunity to learn geography from Sir David Attenborough this week.
Students aged 5-11 years old will be able to take part in an inspiring and engaging lesson taught by Sir David as he encourages them to look at the world around them.
He will be teaching two lessons this week on BBC Bitesize Daily – Tuesday 16th June & Thursday 18th June.
Tomorrow at 9am, children ages 5-7 years will be given a whistle-stop tour of the seven continents and what makes them so unique, 7-9 year olds will learn about the equator, and then the older primary school years will be taught about the importance of maps to explore their surroundings.
Speaking on joining the BBC’s virtual school, Sir David Attenborough said: “I am delighted to be teaching primary school children across the country about the things I am passionate about.”
“I hope children will learn something new about animals, oceans and dinosaurs, and feel inspired by my BBC Bitesize lessons.”
Here’s a little more on what you can expect from Sir David Attenborough this week:
Tuesday 16th June
- 5-7 year olds: ‘The World’ – Continents.
- 7-9 year olds: ‘The World’ – Latitude and Climate.
- 9-11 year olds: ‘The World’ – Maps.
Thursday 18th June
- 5-7 year olds: ‘Oceans’ – Migration.
- 7-9 year olds: ‘Oceans’ – Weather Patterns.
- 9-11 year olds: ‘Oceans’ – Currents, Weather and Fish.
The lessons will be available on weekday mornings from 9am on BBC Bitesize Daily, via the Red Button and BBC iPlayer.
Sir David is also set to return to BBC Bitesize on 30th June as well and will be teaching primary school students all about dinosaurs and fossils as part BBC Bitesize Science Week.
